We were talking about best backing earlier, well now I've got a question that doesn't quite fit in that area. Have you ever used instrumental versions? If so how well did they fit in? |

A kj here sets up and mics congas at his shows. We used to have jam sessions the following sun aft where different pickers and players would play and we would sing. At shows I have hooked up guitars directly into the mixer but it is better to mic their amp.. |

Instrumental as in what way? If you are talking original instrumentals from the artist themselves - often they would come in an instrumental form on cassette singles, not sure if they do anymore. I've never used these, but wish more artists would do this - I would be willing to take the time to convert them into a cdg format. |

I had one guy in Portland do that... he'd bring in a cd he made from one of those cassettes Lonnies talkin' about. I'd play it, and he'd sing to these songs by Steely Dan. Better yet, he'd accompany the song with a harmonica. Was really a treat! |
