All Forums -> Open Forums, Karaoke Discussion Forum -> Music and Musician chat.. All styles equally welcome. If it's about music post it here ! Click the 2nd to the last page
What happens is often the last page listed is a ghost page, however often upon entering a post I have probs doing that as well. Seems there's a glitch that favors "None existence". Message reads "No posts exist for this topic."
(Well, I assume it's a glitch, might be a pc means to shut me up too of course)

I get error message when trying to open the last page. Could it be that the thread is too long?

Not sure but thread is too long possibly exceding a session variable in the data base.

Assuming the thread is too long, why for the past 6 pages has typing the second to last page always worked ? Assuming there were 23 pages in the thread, you'd get the message "no posts exist for this topic" when attempting to ente the last page 23, however if you wished to view the thread by clicking on page 22 you'd never have a problem accessing the thread because usually in actuality (page 22) or now perhaps page 26 is the true last page of the thread (as opposed to the numerically showing page 27)..Unless photo's or uploads threw off auto page count somehow over the course of many pages, based on memory size.. A few times however since this has started, when a post turns over a new last page, the final PAGE does appear to exist for awhile. Yet currently, the last page is just a ghost page that doesn't acknowledge prior content. The second to last page will ALWAYS get you into the thread, as will all pages prior to the final page.. You can enter a post but it won't appear on the last page number. It will appear on the second to last page showing as final page.
Awhile ago, OK what Now had the longest thread on record.. over 1K posts. I'm sure you recall his thread "Do you sing in hopes of picking up somebody". That thread was quite long, but never ran into this problem. I don't think a thread can excede maximum limits UNLESS software was reset in the past year or so.

I think the "Do you sing in hopes of picking someone up" thread was older and longer than this thread.
This is weird

Sharon, It might have to do with photographs, and links of musician performances from You tube and Flurl. That might have thrown off the page count. Assuming this to be the cause, it's my fault. I tried to use reference material for certain articles to show my sources of info too. Might've caused problems.
Here's an example. We were discussing young prodigy musicians, and aspects of young musicians, I pasted Jacob Arman at 7 on the tonight show as well as his site today.. Possibly when clicking the hyperlink to his site it expands the bits of info over a certain size pushing onto another page that wouldn't have formed assuming the link stayed compressed ? Yet a hyperlink wouldn't affect THIS site would it ? It's a cross-reference ?? I don't know what I'm talking about btw... But if I'm doing something wrong, lemme know, thanks

When several posts require scrolling to the right there is a possibility that a variable concerning page count is offset by a constant error. This is only one theory and is above my head.. Phil knows a lot more than I do but like he says there is no easy solution..
