I spent some time poking around the show listings looking for some places i wanted to check out during some upcoming travel I have planned. I noticed there are a fair number of links that are broken, dead or otherwise innaccurate.
Is there a process for reporting dead links or out of date info to clean up the list?

That area has fallen into dis-repair it seems..
If you check the rules, the listing falls off the site unless the venue pays a fee or continues to update the listing.
That appears to have been the death knell.
Seems pointless to have to re-list the venue.

How do we get the dead listings removed?

In the past, I would PM Phill to remove dead or incorrect listings.
(That statement indicates I am also a Club Moderator for club listings)
After many trips to verify club listings and many PMs to correct these listings, it sort of fell off the urgent To-Do list..
Then the listings started to fall off the database..
I suspect a review is needed on protocols..
What say you Phill?

Looking into options on how to actually permit others besides the original poster to modify the listing.
I can go through manually in the database and remove invalid submissions.
If someone (anyone) wishes to do so I would love the assistance.
For deletion: ID #, Club Name, Location.
For updates: ID #, Club Name, Location and corrected details.
I would love for everyone to add the venues that they attend or know of so we can increase the value of the directories.

I would love for everyone to add the venues that they attend or know of so we can increase the value of the directories. I've only ever seen one show directory worth a single thing. The reason it works is that the host has to renew the listing every so often or the show drops off the list. This makes sure it is current, and that makes it useful. Every other show directory I have seen, the shows come and go but never ever get deleted. So the directory is garbage, and no one looks at it.

Mine are all ok!!!!
It should send some kind of reminder email or a link sent to click to keep listing otherwise it deletes after 5-7 days or something. I have a couple sites that do that for me.

Where is the venue ID# listed, I don't see one. I know I have emailed a couple of times about a few listings where the venues have been closed for at least 3 years and they are still listed.

I just realized my listing for me as a KJ and for My show aren't in the directory listing. I believe I submitted a request a little over a week ago. I use the reciprocal link listing option.

You all have a very valid point. I know that the Club Directory can get a bit bogged down with inaccurate listings.
A few of the suggestions seem like they may work. I can set up an automated email that is sent out monthly to all listings to update. If it isn't updated within a week the listing is removed from view.
Any other suggestions?
Chris - I will look into your KJ listing.
Also you can locate the Club ID number by scrolling your mouse over the Venue name in the city listing

OK, I found the ID#, thanks Phil. Will PM you with a few listings that I know for a fact are gone.
As far as a monthly email, that might be a little too often. I think maybe quarterly or better yet, every 6 months would be enough to keep the list fairly current. Besides having the ability to make any changes to the listing maybe the notice could also have a tab that just states that every thing is still correct and no changes are needed. Also would the notification go to the venue itself or to whoever actually filed the listing? I think that most of the time it's not the venue that places the listing but the KJ who has the gig, so sending it to the venue would often be pointless.

I get one every month for my show updates from a couple other sites, it's just a quick link that I click to verify & it's done. I've seen shows come and go in less than a months time, 1 month is not too often to get a reminder!
