Karaoke Forums

Okay many of you may have noticed that there a bunch of new changes to the forums and I am working on adding more.

With these changes there have been a lot of questions - I mean a bunch.

I will try to go through as many as I can remember and try to explain each of them.

On the left side of each post is the following:

Username
Rank Title
Rank Icon (as you post to the forums this will increase)
Avatar (small image that you up load)
Star(s) <- If you have been a member of the forums a year or more, for each year you get a Star!
Joined: <- the date the user joined the forums
Posts: <- total posts of that member
Karma:*  <- just for fun you can give a person a + or -
Points:  <- for each new topic you earn 2 points for each reply you earn 1 point **
Groups: <- the groups this member is part of
Location: <- if entered it will be displayed
Time: <- the members time based on the time zone the choose.
Gender: <- if stated it will be displayed
Zodiac Sign & Chinese Zodiac <- if member entered birthday these will be displayed
Age: <- if member entered their birthday it will be displayed
Country Flag <- if the member selected it will be displayed

Now you are asking how does one insert that info?

Well in the box to the left "Member Area"
Make certain that you are logged in
Then click "User Control Panel"

That will open an area with a bunch of new features.
select Profile Settings

enter as much info as you know...
>> You must submit your gender.

* Karma is nothing really you can give a plus or a minus depending upon your mood. However, you may only give Karma every hour. And only once a day to a person.

** Points these will add up as you post to the forums. I have added other features to work with the points.
Bank - where you can deposit points to earn interest.
Shop - where you can buy special effects for your name, title etc.
Lottery - where you can buy a chance (up to 5) at winning all the points accumulated in the lottery.
Game - still under development...

If you refer someone to the forums and they sign up you get 50 points!!!
Also, you can donate points to another person. This of course reduces the amount that you have.
I know there is more but that should be a start!

Hi Phil,

now that you have added this points counting feature, I'd like to suggest that the comments from Singer's Showcase would be counted as well. I believe it's very worthwhile for any singer with the Critique option chosen to get as many comments as possible. I'm sure that the amount of comments would raise significantly from current average if a user would be entitled to points by commenting (and if it was properly advertised!).

Thats an idea but... It is a completely different comments and reply design not certain how I would implement that...

I will look into that and see what I can come up with.

Just curious... when you add a buddy to your buddy list... will a pop-up window alert you when they sign on?

It just did on mine, Sheree, but you have to set it to do that...

On your buddy page theres a bit that says edit online/offline preferences (or something like that)...

Yoiu can change it on there
