it's kinda buried in the "Forum FAQ"... under "usergroups"

You also need a bare minimum of 15 posts. So join in the fun in the normal areas you can access...

Then when you have 15 posts under your belt, go to the black "member area" on your left side of the screen, and click "User Groups". From there you select "Singer's Forum", and wait to be approved by a moderator. You may have to PM "Webguru", as that manual process may take some time.

In fact, you might want to check with Phill anyway, and see if I accidentally steered you wrong!

WELCOME to the SITE!

:crying2:

Can I at least still read, and  post in here ?   Sortuh like a compromise ?  I mean, like,  Everybody would know I'm banned because it'd say-so under my emoticom, so what difference would it make if I still posted and participated in here ??

Rules
* The Forums are never to be used to advertise or promote anything or anyone.
* The Forums are for the purpose of exchanging useful information and ideas.
Posting of links will be permitted in the forums, as long as they meet these standards:

1) Links are a direct, relevant answer to a question.
2) Links are to pertinent information.
3) A link is not to advertise (or appear to advertise) anything.

Question?
If some one asks: (taken from posts under "Karaoke Discussion Forum"
I am looking to purchase a system for my wife willing to spend around $2000 what should I get.  OR   Best bang for the buck wireless mics?  OR  Are CD+G discs available at brick and mortar stores?

How do you answer the questions without advertising for yourself or someone else
and don't the 1st  & 2nd rule contradict each other

Example:
Question:   I am looking to purchase a system for my wife willing to spend around $2000 what should I get

Answer without any advertising
a system with a cdg player, mixer, mics, and spk's would be good and it should be at least 1000 watts

anything else would be promoting a manufactures product  (ie: vocopro )or a store the sells  the product  (ie: goodtimekaraoke.com)

Whats the answer

I dunno  :dontknow:

Maybe we should just follow the fine example the admin has given us for adhering to the first line in the forum rules:

But you are forgetting it is Karaoke Scene's forum, they have the right to post any content they feel & since it is a post that is a part of Karaoke Scene Magazine & in association with another company they are working with then there are no violations.

The biggest problem is with spammers that register and post links to porn drugs etc. Right now I have a ban email list approaching 2 k. It is almost a daily chore of entering the emali addys in the ban list and deleting the members. The biggest problem with this a bonifide joiner will register and dont think they are registered because the forum is set so that they dont show up in the member list until they post.

Does this board software have an option to moderate (or make use a captcha) the first N posts that a user makes? We are getting tons of spam posts, and all of them are first posts by new users.

There are two things. The first is  they dont show up at the bottom as a new member or in the member list until they post. Most dont post because they think they are not activated. The next is admin or moderator activation only which is really a pain in the A&* and would be a full time job on this forum.

And both mods turn off new viable members who then dont post or go on to something else. .
