Looks like it's comming from Iran......guess I'll stock up on some hamgernades & tommyhog missles... All joking aside, I did a search, and the internet address is from Iran. My computer was attacked while I was reading & making posts. |

Well that "attack" was not generated from this site. We have a firewall and virus protection software on the server. It may have been generated from another site that you visited. |

guess the naked chick with the moustache & turban should have tipped me off......actually I was on here for 20-30 minutes when it came up.....anyway, it's good to make sure each individual member has updated virus software & a firewall |

Did you click on the detail button, and see what the threat was?......you can go back and check your anti-virus history to see what happened. |

Yea I checked to see, but does it really matter? All I know is I wasn't on any sites checking out naked women with mustache's & turban's, I was right here on SS |

What can happen, is a virus alert will be from an "AD" that is piped in from another site. So we don't actually have the virus, but the banner ad does. |

Checked the system again - we are clear. It could be something that is embedded into your system. There is absolutely NO Viruses on KS! |

not a virus, someone trying to get into "my" hard drive in real time....from Iran.....not a joke..KS's firewall can't stop that. |

I had AVG flash earlier when I was on that it just protected me from a threat. Didn't know if that was just a periodic report or what but boyfriend now informs me it means that it had really just protected me from a threat. |

Post subject: | Re: Attack? |
Well the attack did not generate from KS - I don't know how you got that but we did not create nor did any of our advertisers. There is nothing that we can do to protect your computer. I wish you would not state that it was coming through the KS website as it is not! |

I'm on the internet quite a bit.....and it's only recently been happening here. If it makes you feel better.......then it's not comming from the KS site....... |

I'm not saying it is coming from here--just thought it weird that it happened right when JR was saying something was happening with him so thought I had better chime in. Edit: Have been researching and evidently some virus scanners are so sensitive that they may mis-recognize an ad that is trying to load and call it a threat. I can find no record of the threat in my AVG log. Could have been that it was a coincidental thing. Just thought it was weird that it happened the same day as JRs thing. |

The second attack, which happened today was from a computer in Country: Moldova, Republic of ISP: I.C.S. Trabia-Network S.R.L. address 178.17.163.115,80 murouk.com/xmltree.jar....Do Not Click On This Link I gave the Iranian address in the first attack report These are both recorded in my Norton history as another computer trying to gain access to my computer...like when you let microsoft or the company of a program that you use, like Java into your computer for updating....they are phishing with a program called "Sonar"....that's what Norton said |

JR it could have been your next door neighbour. No hacker works from their own ISP. They all use proxy servers. That is the very first thing a hacker learns. My favourite at the moment was seen on a pc that is not connected to the internet. "avg has protected you from several threats recently" |

Post subject: | Re: Attack? |
actually, I recently installed the latest Norton anti-virus, and it's set the notify me of just about everything. I could turn off the notification. What I'm thinking is, our computers come under attack more often than you think, but your anti-virus & firewall block the attack, without telling you, the default setting. Could be because the international draw, but this is the only site it's been happening so far. I don't look at porn, & I don't like to watch sports on tv....I hate to see anybody else having a good time, and I'm not there to participate in the festivities..... |
