Phill,

This might or might not be of some help regarding ongoing error messages stating "script error message" during the opening of the Karaoke Scene Site,  also sporadic interim periods, and always logging out've the site.

In addition, four times today while trying to open spellcheck on this site, my system locked up. I had to press Control, Alt & Delete once (on each occasion) to exit this site (closing unresponsive program from windows task manager) which at that point dumped me from this Site. KS became unresposive. As did my own system.  I checked the details of my "Report this problem to Microsoft" message, and this is what I noticed..

This problem was caused by Yahoo! Browser. This program was created by Yahoo! Inc.. Yahoo! Inc. does not currently have a solution for the problem that you reported.

Recommendation

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A newer version of Yahoo! Browser is available for download that might address this problem. Yahoo! Inc. recommends updating to the latest version of Yahoo! Browser to take advantage of security and stability improvements.

Go online to the following website to update Yahoo! Browser:

Is there a compatibility problem with Yahoo browsers and Karaoke Scene ?  Might this have something to do with the upgrade many did recently to Microsoft IE 7 ?  I haven't a clue,  but the Site hasn't been compatible with my system/ browser/ ???? lately. What I don't understand is whether I visit Karaoke scene from Yahoo, or America Online browsers.  I still have comparable probs.

When attempting to open spellcheck, I just get an empty box (which would normally have acopy of my post and recommended corrections).  I get the blank box, and hourglass that freezes..

My dearest Kappy,

WTF??

j/k

I am unfamiliar with the error messages that you are receiving. Also, I am unfamiliar with a "Yahoo! Browser"

There may be some problems with pop-up windows such as spellcheck if you have a conflict with various software that prevents pop-ups.

I experienced this - IE has a pop-up blocker and so does Google Bar. I turned off Google's and use only IE Pop-Up blocker.

AOL (aka AOHell) never works properly for me. I experience nothing but headaches when attempting to use their system to browse or even IM...

BTW - As if you didn't know...
[schild=17 fontcolor=DC143C shadowcolor=FFFF00 shieldshadow=1]I HATE AOL[/schild]
Anyway, if you provide me with additional info on the error messages I will investigate and see what I can find out - but heck you are smarter than me and probably can do a better/faster search than I

No no,  You sir,  are smarter !

I'll let you know more detailed info regarding the popup error messages as they popup.  Most common error message is the script error message supposedly prompted by the weather feature added to the site.

details

Line:   47
Char:    1
Error:   Object expected
Code:   0
 URL:    http://www.karaoke-forum.com/index_weather.php

Do you want to keep running scripts on this page ?

Would this be my own system's problem ?  or possibly something having to do
 with the weather feature ?

(I'm sure in some unintentional way, I just shared how stupid I actually am)  :biggrinthumb:

Looking into this...

Check your settings in "User Control Panel" make certain that you have selected the correct city code.

There is a link under the weather setting that youy can use to find the correct info...

I set my correct city code for the sites new weather feature awhile back.  I made the assumption that that is what I was being prompted to do. Doing-so doesn't remedy the situation.
