What Kind of details Diafel/Chip/Paradigm? Birdofsong ? Please list them. What would be irrefutable proof to you ? I really am interested in your opinion.

Irrefutable proof to me, would be finding the KJ's name and purchase information in the records of the hard-drive seller that was caught by purchasing an illegal hard-drive in a sting operation.

It is also possible for a company to keep track of sales and to know who legally owns songs from this moment forward with newly produced music. Anyone not on that list playing one of those new songs could be reasonably under suspicion until they provide proof of chain of ownership. If you know all of your customers, then you can recognize those who are not customers.

Just because the manufacturers have lost control of their past music does not mean they can't run a more effective campaign against theft of their old product by taking better control over their new product.

You quoted what I said and should have seen that I didn't mention Sound Choice at all. My statement was about piracy all up. If you don't feel piracy impacts your business, I am not going to try to convince you otherwise.

Suffice it to say that Sound Choice wasn't the only company to go out of business because of piracy and they won't be the last. Tell me that Stellar and Chartbuster aren't feeling the impact.

Regardless of how you feel about Sound Choice business practices, even you have to admit that Sound Choice produced high quality content. We lost them to piracy. That impacted all of us.

I respect your choice to not use their product now. However, I am going to bet that at one time you used Sound Choice and it was the prefered disc for many a song. Piracy has ultimately led to your disdain for the company and that HAS impacted you and your business whether you care to admit it or not.

It is my belief that SC did not go out of the karaoke production business because of piracy- despite their claims to the contrary, but because of mis-management.

They blew big bucks paying off the media-cloque screw-up, and they paid big bucks to the music owners/publishers for producing ( and adding their trademark to) tracks without proper licensing.

Yup, they lost some money to pirates, but I believe they lost a whole lot more to the mistakes ( and many others) named above.
