Maybe he can give us a package deal and bring it down to $25.00 apiece....

If all you have is two SC discs, I'm sure something can be worked out regarding the pricing.

Great, but that reminds me, Sometimes I have trouble comprehending everything I read. Suppose;
My two cdgs contain 30 tracks, that are also on my hard drive, along with 1,470 SC tracks that were a gift from God?
Doing the math, I find those 30 tracks make up 2% of my SC tracks......does that meet the 2% Sound Choice leeway and would I pass an audit?...... :?

There's the intimidation I talked about. "Submit to our pre-suit audit, or we'll REALLY ream you." I don't need that kind of aggravation, and it doesn't make sense for me to subject myself to such things for a business which would be an occasional thing if at all. Which is why I will have to eat the $10,000 I spent on music and not reap any significant benefit.

No, we're not saying that at all.

Whether we do a pre-suit audit or a post-suit audit, we're still not looking at your non-SC materials. If you are 1:1 with SC, but unaudited, and you happen to get sued, then simply submit to the post-suit audit. We will verify your 1:1 status (with a 2% tolerance), and--assuming that you pass--you'll get dismissed from the suit. There is no settlement agreement in that situation--it's just an outright dismissal.

IF you have pirated SC material--i.e., you're not 1:1 with SC--and choose to settle, only then will the settlement agreement require you to remove unauthorized material from other manus. If you are 1:1 with SC, you have nothing to worry about.

Does that improve the taste in your mouth?

So, basically, according to your company, ALL KJs that use Sound Choice in any form but the original disk are guilty until PROVEN innocent. I will still be BUYING my music, but it won't be from your company. When you come to checkout my show, you will not see ANY SC logos. I would rather have slightly lower quality and less hassle. I don't want your audits, your certificates, or anything else. I will tell you this, BEFORE I learned all this, I was planning on buying SC, exclusively because I have always liked the quality. But it's not worth all the BS you MAY have to go through to own them. If I pay for something, I own it. I can do with it what I wish. It is mine. If I want to put it on my computer, like I have done with over 1000 CDs that I own, I will. So, once I get my show started, which I have a new plan for, thanks to the good folks of this site, I will not even THINK about buying your product. You may come to my show, all you want, and you won't find a single SC track. Don't be surprised if this becomes a popular movement. I WILL be talking to all my karaoke friends and make sure THEY don't buy your stuff, either. I will explain to my customers why I will not be supplying SC music. Let's put it this way, I have NEVER gotten audited by the IRS, what makes you think I would allow some karaoke company audit me, just because they don't trust their customers?

Not to mention that whoever makes your CD media sucks. I have been working a friend of mine's show for 7 years, and ONLY the sound Choice CDs have ever cracked. Of my little bunch of SC CDG, three have cracked, and I am METICULOUS with them. My buddy had like four of SC's disks, and two of them cracked. The music is good, but the manufacturing is terrible.

You can put whatever you want on your computer all day long - that's fair use under law. It's when you decide to use it for commercial gain (any disc, manu or cd, dvd, vcd) is when the problems arise - this again is under law.
What are you going to do when the karaoke manus active in lawsuits start buying up the trademarks of the defunct companies which they are supposedly actively doing? SGB is supposedly under the control of CB now rumor has it. DK i've heard is under one of the Big 3.

I will just use disks. My friend, that I help out has been using disks since he started. I will not be held under anyone's thumb. I will not do it!! This is still America. We STILL have rights.

No he has 30+ discs remember! Although if he has any copies that he's using, he's still in the same boat as a computer user and will be subject to the same lawsuits, whether he realizes it or not.

Copies of what? They are the originals. Get over it, already.

I don't believe you. The plastic used for the manufacture of CD's is pretty standard across the industry.

If you have cracked only Sound Choice CD's, my guess would be because they get used and handled more often and thus are more likely to get cracked. I would willing bet that if you hold your Sound Choice discs up next to your Sweet Georgia Brown discs that the SGB discs look clsoe to brand new while the SC discs will have fingerprints, scratches, and other signs of wear.

Because they get used more.

Cracked cdgs, but you still have the mp3+gs you made from them?......in my take on the rules, you're good to go.

Unfortunately, though it once was, this is no longer true. For example, newer CB discs are thinner than the older ones. Their new labels are lower quality too. Many of the less expensive brands now put out on lower quality and thinner discs as well.

This is not directed only at CB or any particular company. It's just that - possibly due to financial constraints- I have been seeing a wider variation in disc ( meaning the actual plastic) quality.
