Even if they had worked out a deal with Chartbuster, that still seems kinda odd to have those in the "collection".
All that would do is lend some credibility to the possibility that some "deal" was struck with the CB folks BEFORE the "reorganization", which would be just another of the questionable catalog moves that occurred during the latter months...

Or how about someone ripped off the tracks, rejigged them, and figured that since CB is out of business, they could get away with selling them.

They clearly state on the Virtual DJ site that the tracks are from a new label called MegaHits and they are from the former Chartbuster...that would be an awful amount of potential liability to take on without some level of credibility...

http://fr.virtualdj.com/forums/178901/G ... vider.htmlI forgot to post this link earlier...again, I do not know how reliable this info is, since it seems most of the people who moderate their forum are product users that have somewhat of a connection with the product makers. I even had to make like I was actually interested in getting the product just to get THAT much of a response from SOMEBODY...

They have no intention of answering your questions any deeper that they have.....
Shady and hiding a lot of somethings, slimey ,slithery, creepy , crawly things that COULD get KJ's in a world of hurt.
Just think about the best case scenario....The content just suddenly disappears....what is the KJ that has subscribed to do on a moments notice.....cancel their shows ?...rent a library (if possible)....I wouldn't want to be in that situation.
Worst case scenario you end up sued...IF they don't fold, you could possibly go after them to be made whole for what you lost...maybe ?

So Virtual DJ is not a credible source of content? Can't imagine they'd put their company at legal risk to provide karaoke content. They're a reputable company and most likely have been affected by software piracy much more a karaoke producer.

well simply put...if you care to know if the "mega hits" tracks are licensed for use here in the USA, simply ask the publishers. Slithery, slimey, festering things happening ....IF VDJ has been scammed themselves I feel sorry for them as well.

...Some KJs just couldn't imagine that some Karaoke Retailers (both Online and or Brick & Mortar Stores) selling Karaoke Players with Loaded Drives and No CDGs but promising the customers (especially KJs) that their purchases were legal...... but they did and they weren't legal!
...Makes ya kinda wish there was some kind of Central Karaoke Agency that you could call or website you log onto to find out who's or what's legal and who's or what's not.... or maybe that's just me?

It would seem the industry is doomed, however, to this fragmented Byzantine system, where nobody is certain if they are running 100% legal, probably to some extent every host has some questionable materials in their libraries. ...I agree! Unfortunately, us KJs, are at the bottom end of this chain and yet are usually the most observed.
