cousinvinnie wrote: DannyG2006, are you speaking for yourself or are you sticking up for somebody? Have you ever been sued by Sound Choice for being a "Technical Infringer" ?
we can be honest here. I have not been sued as I was one of the first certified hosts in the country to be audited along with several other hosts that attended a mini convention held at Sound Choice's then headquarters in Charlotte NC in November 2010.

cousinvinnie wrote: That's not so DannyG2006, They left the KJ's alone and went after those making copies and also those selling them. no...they ONLY sued KJ's. that's it. the guys selling them are still going and untouched (KJ Bill anyone?) cousinvinnie wrote: This was back in the Pentium 2 days when CDBurners and Recorders became very popular in the karaoke world.
It was when the 100GB hard drive's started coming into the market when KJ's got smart and decided on using laptops moving forward in the karaoke industry as "Technical Infringers" and even back in that period, kj's were left alone. no they were not, "technical infringers are who they targeted because the ones stealing outright had no money to recoupo. the "technical infringers" would pay to license and be left alone after doing nothing wrong. cousinvinnie wrote: Again Sound Choice was more interested in those Copying and Selling. and which sellers did they sue? i'll wait. cousinvinnie wrote: It's not cheap to enforce. back in the day because kj's come and go.
Back in the day Sound Choice asked for your help, what did you guys do? i signed up for one of the very first voluntary audits and had it done by Kurt himself. i sent out reams of Safe Harbor brochures to every venue in the area i put certified logos on my cards, handouts, slips, website, and everywhere i could i spread the word about the suits and being legal to every bar owner i spoke to i reported numerous pirate hosts for years and most multiple times (not one was investigated, but plenty of legal hosts were investigated and sued for being "technical infringers" while pirates were left unscathed) even later on when Harrington joined the mix i emailed him directly, nothing. what did you do? cousinvinnie wrote: I'll tell you what 99% of us did. We took advantage of new technology because it was new and made it easier for us to simply rip disks to our hard drives and keep the disks at home.
It's normal because we are human. Remember when the MP3 first got introduced? We did the same thing, we ripped our cd's onto the computer. It was the coolest technology ever. and you were fine because you ARE IN CANADA. they don't go up there and sue hosts.

They didn't need to come to Canada. The RCMP did the job for any music company under the laws governed here in Canada.
Many of us KJ's went through that process with the Law enforcement quite a few years ago.
Sorry Dude, but we also have to go by the books here. Even as musicians we go through the Licensing bullshit.
We as professional KJ's no matter where we live should work together as a team, We are all on the same side here.
Back in the day Sound Choice asked for your help and you helped them... That's awesome! Now in today's world... Sound Choice is asking for your help in the "Music Selection" department.
Forgive me but... Do you not want to help them?

Also the Digital Sound Choice player was also a very nice deal and the quality of the player is still there like day one. I have no complaints about their products or prices. I'm actually looking to buy this

A number of the GEM Series discs would not play in it making it a worthless backup player which is why I have two laptops, one that I use as my main laptop and the other is my backup. I am in the process of updating my external hard drive because I upgraded my main laptop's Karaoke program and it has a major bug in it so I have to use the backup laptop to do my show tonight because even though I contacted Isaac about the problem, I don't have the time to wait for him to fix it before my show tonight. Plus I don't want him to rush a fix out before he has had ample time to truly fix the issue.

I might be able to get you one. Why would you want one? It might be an easier backup for the off chance that I experience an issue with my laptop and need to switch to the player temporarily until I can figure out and fix the issue with the laptop.

Are you using autoplay que feature? Download and update to 1.1.135 latest version. it's working perfectly on my 4 test machines here.

Vinnie, the photos of the Beer Garden are at the exact same location that KNF says is her venue. Are you partners with her.... or maybe a little more

KNF is not a DJ. She is my BOSS... lmfao! Actually if you're referring to Sue. She is my wife.

No. I am highlighting the singer and double clicking on the song that I want to add. Granted, I wasn't using the remote requests feature. I should test that before upending my setup by installing the backup laptop into it.

I should test that before upending my setup by installing the backup laptop into it. Just double click on the track listed in the singers name (Bottom left side of the player) as the song gets played you will notice the next track displays under the same singer and highlights bright yellow when his / her playlist is empty Has nothing to do with the remote request feature. That part is a separate entity and does not impact the playlist any different. UPDATE: I've recreated the issue and submitted to Isaac. I see what you mean now.

Sorry guys, I thought you all knew.
Sue and I run a KJ hosting company (Karaoke Niagara) We are a small company of one system providing karaoke services throughout our area. But we also support karaoke venues and kj's worldwide.
