OK, being that youa re disc based only - it's kind of moot point, however, if you were to run on computer & get named in a suit, how confident would you be in winning said suit flipping all the expenses yourself - no matter the cost based on the opinions of your friend lawyers, or would they be willing to flip all the expenses themselves thinking they would win, relieving you of any cost?
Whatever any lawyer states, it's still JUST opinion until actually tried in a court of law - which I seriously doubt anyone has the time nor resources to pursue.
Lon, last thing first: I am in absolute agreement with you that what has been stated were
[u]opinions only.[/u In answer to your question, and as stated here repeatedly, I believe that SC's ( or maybe it was just Jim's) statements in regard to making media to media copies ( disc to disc) and their use as backup discs to be completely false. Therefore, I must have the confidence in my convictions.
As for whether the lawyers would work for free- I have no idea. I'm starting to think that maybe one might. However, I would answer you as I answered Timberlea:
I don't generally give away the service that I provide that brings in income for free. How often do you do it? I'm sure Jim isn't putting all those hours of work for free, no matter whether he feels strongly about what SC is doing or not. He has spent years and a lot of money to become an attorney, plus has done his time in the school of experience. Why should he, or the other attorneys who have done the same give away the service on which their income is based?
