The initial registration is made by estimating the number of cd+g's to be registered and then issuing coded labels. The code is then paired with a mfr's disc-id and registered in a database. Any leftover labels are either held for future registration or returned to be issued at a later date.
I'm also considering what it would take to create a clearing house independent of the mfrs. A registrar and secure storage facility?
Sounds like a good idea, but the barcode label can't be both impossible to remove without damage AND non-harmful to the disc label. The adhesive is what it is. However, I don't see this as a big sticking point ( yup, pun intended..
) as long as the one sticker is representative of ALL manufacturers, not just one or two.
Still, wouldn't this kind of be the same as Chips idea about the registration numbers, but adding the label? If so ( and I'm not sure after adding in the usage of the extra labels
)
Then the reg numbers would work just as well, no stickums needed.
