Chartbuster filed some suits in Tennessee last year and there are rumblings that they might expand beyond that. But yes--they did file in their own state for sure.

I'd be willing to bet that I'll have all the songs on CB. When you do the CAP with Stellar, they send you a CD with a couple of PDF's on it. One of those PDF's is a listing of every single track covered by the CAP. I just opened it up and it is 232 pages long single column. It is a very sizable library. I don't know exactly how much of that I actually have, but it is a lot. The host I bought my system from was pretty meticulous with his cataloging and organization. It was a typical 100,000+ library that you see at many pirate shows. -Chris

I won't be paying for them to cover my illegal songs when I don't have any. As for media shifting them... I'll ask permission IF i find that some of those disc's hold songs not covered by the 12,000 I'm getting from CB. I don't use disc's in my shows any longer.. i really want to take the players out of my rack. I have requested permission from SC to media shift their songs (foundation and brick 1 2 & 3, few odd discs bought from them over the years). If they refuse, I will be a CB only KJ.

I should say, I'll still be using DK and SGB.. I have moved them to hard drive and I will keep the two libraries of each that I have. We sometimes rent one library for private parties and the other we keep safe. I'm 1:1 with everything on my hard drive and sometimes 1:2! (one on hd and two in storage)

LisaH 3,200.00 for the CAP a bit high for 48 discs and if you have the discs you will be fine without the CAP...it is intended for those who had "the dog eat their discs ect "

No CAP for me! The library from CB is all the money I'm gonna spend for now.. am not happy about it duplicating what I already own. But I know I have some gaps in my library and this should take care of that. I'll either be selling my CB disc's or keeping for the private rentals.. haven't decided yet. Once the CB drive gets here, I'll be going after the local pirates.... that's the only reason I bought the thing! I want the certificate to give me the legitimacy that I'm sure the venues will want to see. (the downloads I bought will be for my private use now unless I can find out for sure that I can use them in a gig) So, off to work for me now! See ya! *and thank you*

But I get where yer comin from Oh No! I did the manufacturer rating all on my own. It is not required at all. I just started this thread as a means of telling my experience. Stick to the Sound Choice paperwork and touch base directly with Kurt Slep. He is a great guy to work with. Just keep in mind that my audit was in person. Their regular audit procedure is over the Internet using Skype. You wish to start a thread to ask about the experience people have had with Sound Choice and a Skype audit. -Chris

Maybe I will..... seems pretty straight-forward though. I haven't got my book online ready for them yet, was going to wait and do cb first (they are sending me their library), but I guess I can just wait on that and do it now since SC seems ready to go. thanks for your help and congrats again about getting all your certificates
