Um, Starz was one of your original KIAA (and we know about THAT BS) companies that jumped ship after realizing what it was. Why would SC be bothering them NOW? Just to aggravate?

Joe, I was asked about Starz in a comment that
implied they were not operating legally but were allowed to slide by SC. My comment in response was to specify that they weren't alloahhhwed to slide; they voluntarily complied without the necessity of a suit and demonstrated that they were 1:1. SC isn't "bothering them NOW." You might want to read the whole thread before commenting.
' Ah. My apologies, Jim. I did as you suggested and realized that I misunderstood. Sorry.

Now that I have been dealing with more KJs down here, I can tell you they don't care about SC or the lawsuits. They have all their stuff on computers, SC included, and do give a damn about any of this. They come to my shows and think I am nuts that I run my SC from disc, while running everything else from my computer. I tell them, and just regular patrons, (if they ask why I don't use more SC), it is not worth the trouble of running their stuff on my computer if they ever inspect my show. I further tell them it is not worth $150 to get audited, for me, and I won't buy any more SC because I do not like how they treat their customers. They treat their customers like they are all guilty until proven innocent. That usually ends the questions, the show goes on, and everyone keeps coming back. SC is becoming irrelevant around here.

Smooth, while you are right about avoiding the aggravation, I see the PC folks point too. SC has failed in court enough times that the hosts are finally wising up to the fact that they really have no TM infringement case.

To those who have convinced themselves that running a PC show is easier, the perceived convenience outweighs SC's now minor annoyance.

That being said, I have a personal preference for discs anyway, so I'm with you.

I don't have a preference toward running discs. I HATE discs. They skip, they jump, if the the table gets bumped they mess up. I have two venues that I set up on stages. They are made of plywood. If a patron jumps on them there goes the skip in the disc. I HATE running discs. Running off computer is SOOOO much nicer.

With the crappy "investigating" you stand just as much of a chance of getting sued if you have a computer at all so why run just SC from disc?

No. Cause my discs are right there in the open. I hardly even use my SC discs to begin with. Most of the stuff I use now is the stuff I buy online. It's very rare one of my SC discs gets used. My Journey disc is about the most popular.
