I am curious as to what advantage would there be to the KJ who renews?

Ok, so the songs have to be ripped prior to the audit taking place?? And I have tried to rip SC discs before, way back when I started this. Why can't you rip that last song. It always comes up as Utility or something.

if it is track 16, it is a "catalog" of sorts that was put on the discs when computers took over directing you to their website, etc. if it is track 15, that might be the mediacloq issue.

media cloq made discs hard to rip because of an extra data track that confused computers. that may not be the problem, but it could be. the only fix is to get a drive that can read it, don;t think there was any special magic drive that did, just luck of the draw.

OK, thanks. Not gonna do it just yet, but soon. I am in the middle of a move, so I have more pressing matters.

But that computer finally died. When I got my new computer I took the drive out I knew worked from the old and put in the new and it no longer worked. So anyone that CAN rip Mediacloq discs are able to by pure luck only. I have 4 drives (2 cdg certified Plextors from MTU, my LiteOne & an LG) none of which work anymore. I actually have a couple external drives too that do not work.

I bought an ASUS desktop last year (only pre-built PC I have ever purchased). The included drive reads MediaCloq discs and I use MTU MicroStudio to rip at 320k.
The drive is a Matshita BD-CMB UJ160 which is a BluRay CD/DVD reader/burner.

I feel dumb now, I never used my laptops to import - they both import the medicloq discs perfectly, one Windows Vista, the other Windows 8. So maybe it's more a desktop issue with the MC discs.

I'm disc-based plan to register my discs before buying the new setup. Then that has changed. When I got mine done a couple years back, ripping the discs first was a requirement - for reasons I'm still not sure.

To clarify, the discs do not have to be ripped before you register and receive a provisional certification, but if you haven't ripped your discs, we will not have anything to audit.

Not to be difficult but could you just audit the disks with the skype and then require us to mark the disk? That way all you need is a spread sheet from us and the camera to see the actual disk. I really do not want to rip all of my disks at this time. A quality Sound choice library only needs the 2 foundations and the 5 bricks plus about 160 add on Sound Choice disks. I take it you do not need to see our D.K.-Chartbusters-Pioneer-MusicMaestro ect.
