That is exactly why they would be forged. There is an expectation that there will be new people coming into the business and looking to do it inexpensively. Someone pops onto Karaoke Scene asking "How do I start off cheaply?" and almost everyone will (and many of us did) say "Buy a cheap SGB set on eBay". Counterfeiters can produce those things easily on a whim and since they sell so cheap, when someone does realize it is counterfeit, they aren't out much money and so it goes unreported.

If I sold you what you thought was a real Yugo for $100 and you found out it was a fake Yugo, that you would probably just live with it.

I have said it before - There are pirates, counterfeiters and plenty of other unseemly characters that have accounts here and simply watch what goes on to stay informed. The bad guys aren't necessarily stupid and the good guys aren't necessarily smart. That means there is money to be made off the ignorant and un-informed.

I didn't get them on e-bay. I have never bought ANYTHING on e-bay. I got them from Amazon. And if these were forged, they certainly went through a lot of trouble making them look authentic. They have the disc numbers with bar codes embossed into the aluminium on the play side of each disc.

That's the same as saying "I didn't buy them at Sears, I bought them at JC Penney". Both are reputable companies. But neither actually manufacture most of what they sell.

I was just making a point. I don't suspect that what you have is counterfeit. I was just point out that counterfeiters are resourceful.

Couterfeiters do great to great lengths to forge high quality fakes if there is money to be made. CD's are pretty easy to counterfeit and can easily be outsourced overseas.
