I could use some l;egal advise.....
I used to REALLY like Soundchoice karaoke for their high standards and quality music tracks. I liked them so much, in fact, that I tattooed their logo on my left buttcheek.
My questions:
1) If I moon my audience, is that copyright infringement of the SoundChoice logo?
2) Can I submit my left buttcheek to an audit, get it on file with SoundChoice, buy the GEM series, then freely display the my butt logo all around town for commercial gain?
Thanks. I've been scared to show the logo every since the SC lawsuits began, and business has suffered as a result. Business is so slow that I can't even afford that ChartBuster tattoo that I need to upgrade my system.
You know what Confucious say: "It takes money to make money, now hit the streets before I beat your azz, ho" or something like that.
Help!

Almost forgot our jingle.....
We're proud to be Kary & Okee from Muskogee
And it's music law we try to represent,
So if we get you through your hard drive audit
We hope you feel your money was well spent
Now if you end the audit being convicted
And have to go to jail, and pay a fine,
We'll give you back all of your stinkin' money
So we don't have to hear you pizz and whine

Rip, I believe it's an attempt at a parody of an old Merl Haggard song? I think?

Please help. Sound Choice is suing me because I sang one of their songs off pitch and made them sound bad. Can they do that?

Now was it only one song, or did you commit several infractions?......there is a difference in the eyes of the judicial system.

I'm pretty sure they used the phrase "habitual offender" in their complaint.

Hmmmm, let me look in my book....ok...that could fall under "Corpus Opertunis" which means it's intentional, and you try to do it every chance you get, or a case of "Habeas Pokemonis" meaning that it's not intentional, and only a simple super power you've had since birth. In the first case, if convicted, you'd be compelled to post a song on singers showcase every day, for 1 to 3 years. In the second case, 6 months to a year of probation, and singing in anything less than a duet or better situation, would be a violation of your probation. Such violation would result in a punishment similar to the "Corpus Opertunis", though the actual term would be "Habeas Pokemonis Againus"........in either situation, we would plea bargain, and in worst case scenario.....throw you on the mercy of the court......Hope this helps...

Dear Lawyers,
I was at a karaoke show recently and this guy sang My Way twice in a row. Then I accidentally knocked his beer off the bar. Now he claims I owe him $2.75, plus he wants my turn since he missed his because his turn was up again when the glass fell. The bartender says he did not see or hear anything unusual that night. Do I owe this guy money? He says it was a Heineken, but it looked more like a PBR.

Thanks. You've been very helpful so far. Sound Choice has agreed to drop the complaint against me if I agree to a voice audit. I have to sing several songs of their choice to prove that I'm not tone deaf. If I don't agree, they're going to seize all my disks, microphones and loudspeakers and I'll only be allowed to sing in the shower.

This is an easy one....no witness, no foul.....it falls under the "sh!t happenus" rule of law.....and in legal terms we like to refer to a plaintif, such as you describe, as a... "D!ckis Maximus"......dohn worry bout it.....

Hmm, you owe him $630....dude might have a point, so there goes the libel and slander....
I'd suggest running up your tab as much as you can.....since you probably can't dodge the title bestowed onto you, might as well play it out to the max.....in legal terms we like to refer to such action as "screwius maximus, dat crackerus".....now go forth and prosper....
