A couple of months ago, I started a top "Dear Chartbuster," with a couple of gripes I had. One of those gripes was why I have to buy my monthly releases from them at "full retail" when Ebayers sell them for much cheaper.

So, I bought my new monthly releases this time from Ebay. Or was it Chartbuster?

Item location: Seymour, TN

The package I received was addressed from Chapman Hwy in Seymour.

Has Chartbuster opened up their own Ebay store disguised as an independent dealer?

Doubt it. They would most likely use Chartbuster if they were selling on e-bay.

No they wouldnt.

Think about it. Ebayers already sell way cheaper than CB. If CB opened up a store under their own name, they would have to sell at prices that were comparable to their retail prices. This Ebayer is undercutting EVERYONE on Chartbuster products. They couldn't do that under their own name because they would alienate their dealers.

Kinda doubt it as that seller has been around since '03

So, what was the incentive to purchase directly from Chartbuster again? I must have missed that part...

Many of the discs are described as having misprints on the labels. Also several have this note:

Special Note : Chartbuster has re-designed their disc packaging and artwork. The picture shown is not the actual packaging for this disc, it is the stock photo received before the alterations took place. It is now packaged in a more simple disc sleeve with an open cover allowing you to see the songs on the front of the disc.
Also, their discs will now be white colored rather than featuring various color schemes. Please make note of these changes so that when the disc arrives you do not worry about them being bootlegs or something of that nature. You can contact Chartbuster directly at 1-800-347-5504 if you have any concerns.

This looks like a Chartbuster "factory seconds outlet" for B-Stock and test runs to me.

You beat to the punch, Bazza. That's exactly what I think it is.

The last 2 months I received directly from CB were in blue sleeves (no major artwork on front & some advertising for the boxed sets on back) & white printed discs with black lettering.

are they burning instead of pressing?

Still pressed, just basic sleeves & simple black & white printing on the discs. Most likely a cost measure to try to save some money.
