Hello all, this is an awesome forum and thanks for checking out my problem....

I purchased a hard drive full of karaoke music (legally, it was a former DJ's only copy) and each song in the HD has has 2 files, an MP3 file and a CDG file. I need to begin to burn these songs to cd so that I can play them on my new Gemini cdx-2500.

I am pretty computer savy but I'm a complete novice with this karaoke stuff. I own a charity entertainent company so I can't really afford software.

Can someone please help? Thank you in advance. Well done with this forum!!

I don't want to be the wet blanket, but... while the HD may have been his only copy, if he didn't include the original discs, you can't use it or any of the music on it. One of the things that has this and many other karaoke boards in such an uproar are the lawsuits that some of the manu's are filing against KJ's who don't have the original disc's.

Best thing you could do would be to try to get your money back, because that drive could bring you loads of legal problems. For more info. check the legality sub-forum in the karaoke discussions forum.

That said, the software to convert mp3+g to bin isn't free but runs anywhere from $30 and up. Check the links to the left.

Yep sorry to say if you didn't get the original discs with the HD, you are illegal as the worst pirate out there. You got dup'd buddy!! Moving to legal forum!

Thanks for the help everyone. Luckily I didn't pay the total amount for the HD until finishing my research. Got my money returned and HD out of my hands today.

If you remember the manu's that were on the HD contact them with the sellers info so they can put him out of business permanently.

He may have said it was his only copy but I'll bet dollars to donuts he has more.
