Post subject:  Update, one down one to go...CERTIFIED STATUS

Even though I was offered to be "CERTIFIED" by Chartbuster by just a few pics alone, I asked to be fully "AUDITED" by Chartbuster, and after scheduling conflicts, we just completed a full and complete "AUDIT" of all my CDG's and because I "DO NOT" do computerized Karaoke the process went very quickly...I even impressed them with some "OLD SCHOOL CDG's" that many of these newbies had no idea were around, such as the "BETA TAPES"...lol....I also have all the old BMB/Sony carousel/jukebox disc players complete with the REMOTE controller and double racks attached...lol.
Let me see who has those left too...and of course many of the JVC800tn players,6 plus ones.
Even though Sound Choice has dropped their case on me, I too wanted to voluntarily do their extensive "AUDIT"....even though they said it wasn't necessary because I have proven I was CDG based only, I requested a full "AUDIT" myself cause I WANT ALL THOSE HATERS to recant their slanderous remarks about me, especially on the other sites..
I'm sure the official statement will be forthcoming due to the legal mumble-jumble in doing so.
I feel like a VIRGIN again...lmao

Glad it's getting cleared up Rodney... Did Charbusters tell you that the "certification" is only good for 1 year? You'll have to pay for it (like KJAthena and others did) every year.

BTW, I do have some JVC cartridges and machine. I had two old "heads" from the jukebox units and even tried to get rid of them.... no takers. Ended up trashing them.

Rodney if Chartbuster follows the rules for this year (in following years)when you pass your re-cert you get full credit back for new merchandise....we got 20011 stacakers for all our systems so the re certification was free....wish we could use the Mediapro but compuhost is a pain with our converted LD files........

I could use any cartridges, get me a price also any thing elft from the old units, let me know, I still fix them for everyone...I don't know what stackers are and I still don't plan on doing any computer karaoke even though I've been certified, I'm old school and proud of it...

Stackers are the sets that come with several discs--like Pop Hits of 2011 or Country Classics.

I actually did an 'old school' night last night. Made everyone look up their songs and write out numbers and I used all discs instead of computer. Had to remember the video switch between the 2 players, but ran the show as fast as I do with my computer. Only complaint I had is people did miss the next 3 people in line that shows up on screen, other than that, you couldn't tell I wasn't using a computer - always cued up the next song for ready play (no dead air). I would have no problem running from disc again, just choose not to. I do have my JFJ disc resurfacer as well, so all discs are in good condition at all times.

We have one, too. They're outstanding.

I third the JFJ, of course. As long as there is no label damage, it will fix anything. Also, it's now about half the price it was when I bought mine.

If you do get one, you may as well lay in extra supplies for it. You'll be surprised how often it is used. Not only for karaoke discs, but for ALL the discs one deals with- software, movies, cds, etc...

Even at my higher old cost, mine has paid for itself many times over.

What is the costs for this machine, nowadays?
I have about 8 cdg's that have a song or two that don't play right due to a scratch that I would like to clean up.
Also once a year I use a clear silicone spray that I use to coat my cdgs that actually helps prevent scratches but if this machine works that well, would you suggest I do all my discs a "once over".?

Here's your info: http://www.jfjdiscrepair.com

I would never recommend resurfacing a disc as standard maintainance, but would do so only when a flaw occurs. I would also do so if I happen to spot visual imperfections when I am about to create a back-up.

In other words, only when needed.

$150, comes with a small supply kit to get you going, but like stated, go ahead and order more, you'll need em.
You will want to do a little learning curve on some old discs you do not care about, it is possible to burn them - just a matter of learning the system.
