Well It looks as thought we're going to get the Gem minus the Sapphire 5, a month earlier than I thought, sometime in next month. With it we're also getting 900 additional songs, 60 + CD's... Mr. Harrington, aside from those we purchase, we have only two Spanish CD's (SC7101 & SC1502)...What can we expect then?

Hey Jim, it is Jim isn't it? Am I going to get an answer from you guys on this one. I wonder how much of a future problem is going to pop up if I buy those extra discs. And what about my 2 Latin babes...

I don't really understand the question. Are you asking what will happen regarding an audit for the non-GEM materials on you hard drive? If that's the case, I'm really not sure of the answer, and your best bet is to call in and ask. 704-583-1616 is the main switchboard, and customer service will have the answer to your question.

Basicly will I need an SC audit also, or am I good to go? Will I get the OK to put them on my computer HD?

Well get this, per Chris, If you buy the Gem, SC still want's you to have an audit to be certified. They will do it for free. And no, they don't look at your fianacials. They want to make sure your not using a pirate HD...Hum, oh well...

Don't some KJs who purchase/lease the GEM series also own some SC discs that may still be unique to the selection offered in the GEM series? And, wouldn't they also proceed to (if they haven't already) download those discs to their HD as well? Wouldn't that, in and of itself, require an audit (as per SC)?

If you are running using SC content you have media-shifted from CDGs, you need to be certified by SC to be 100% legal. Yet the Soundchoice website lists Gem owners as a separate category from certified hosts.

Well yes, but that's not what he said is it. He said "If you buy the Gem, SC still want's you to have an audit to be certified". Now if you have 100 other discs, that changes things a bit! If he is expecting to buy the GEM series and automatically get all his OTHER discs covered without an audit, that's crazy.

I believe that list is of those that were named in lawsuits and bought the GEM to comply - 2 of the bars named here are on that 2nd part. There are 3 sections on that page.

I know of some on the Gem list that were never sued. It's kind of a bummer that they are associated with those who had to buy it to comply because of a suit. Peolpe may get the wrong idea about them, and come to the same conclusion.

I don't know if they would necessarily come to wrong conclusion, it could simply mean they didn't know they had something wrong (or not) & made it right before any lawsuits took place. The third section I think is the ones that SC had issues with that lawsuits were actually in force and were rectified with settlements.
