Post subject:  another harrington law question about multiple songs...

so if i wanted to split up my karaoke songs, for 2 shows, then do the audit.

can i do individual songs as i may have 2 or 3 versions of one song on different karaoke disc numbers of the same manu like sound choice.

but i still want to keep the majority of the disc for the other karaoke show.

as long as i keep the 1:1 ratio, then do the audit i'm legal right.....

why should I have to buy another disc with the same music for a second show when i already have 2 or 3 copies of that song availible....

anyone chime in on this please

There aren't enough duplicates to make a second or third show out of them.

speak for yourself!

i own well over 1200 cdg's..... almost 24,000 songs

remove the dups it's about 8000 actual unique songs... quick math not accurate.

I'd like to personalize my show's from the disc's i have...

if you look at all the dup's i have it's anywhere from 2-15 of each song...

and i've noticed most of my sound choice and chartbusters are doubled and even tripled...

Here's Chartbuster's answer to that question from this thread:

Here's the answer I promised you last week - as long as you maintain a one-to-one ratio of songs on disc to songs on shifted media, you are good to go and in compliance with the Media Shifting Policy. This includes instances where the same song appears twice in different file types on the same physical disc. Feel free to shift them individually or together, as you have purchased two physical copies of that song on a disc that contains alternate file types. This includes using them on spatially and temporally separated rigs.

Clause 9(g) in the Gem contract states that it cannot be subdivided or load just part of. Its all or nothing onto one medium...Since the Gem has one Proof of Licence Sticker you cannot take the Diamond and put into one computer, then the rest into another...

Pyle, Mighty does not say anything about the Gems, which have that clause. Regular SC discs do not come with that "signed" agreement.

The short answer to your question is--for CDGs, anyway--yes.

As has been pointed out, the GEM series license does not allow "set-splitting."

If you are planning on splitting up individual CDGs into two systems, you should (1) be very careful in doing so to avoid inadvertently moving outside 1:1 correspondence, and (2) disclose to SC when you request the audit that this is what you've done so that the auditor will know what he is looking at.
