...Well now that's a real GEM of a find, or is it?

....I wondered the same thing...Even checked his feedback, just for the heck of it.

90.9% feedback rating. 5 negatives out of 44. Not good!

his feedback as a seller is for these same DVD's...feel sorry for anyone who purchases them if they contain SC tracks...even cropped

Which one was horrid? I don't have the Beatles song on SC to compare with, but the Elvis song is identical to the 8154 Spotlight musically.

Since it's "over 6000" songs, I wonder if it is the Gem Series. I was wondering how long it would take to pirate the Gem Series......

We'll look into it.

However, this is an excellent teaching point. The listing doesn't say "Sound Choice" anywhere, and the logos have been removed, but you were able to identify them as SC's tracks because of the style of the title card, the lyric sweeps, and other features of the graphics.

THAT is what we mean by trade dress, and why we say that it is not enough to remove the logos to avoid trademark infringement.

Going on two years, and still not pirated.

$10 says if you were to buy these, the songs you receive would all be intact w/logos. I'm betting he removed the logos on exactly two...the samples in the auction.

And it appears to be a mix of multiple manus from the song list. Case in point...eight versions of this song complete with manu codes. This guy is a genius alright!

That requires you to have access to an authentic copy, or at least to have heard it many times, and even then you can't be sure. I'll bet you don't even need to hear the music or see a logo to recognize an SC track.

I compared it to my 8154 Elvis disc, it don't take a good ear to hear it's the same. But, yes the words/swipes are similar if not the same, on the sample I saw (that is after it finally loaded), the graphics looked alot grainier than the original cdg, like it was turned into a video file. Yes, I would be able to tell a SC track without hearing the music.

Someone who works in a bank and handles millions of dollars in cash would be much more likely to find a counterfeit bill than someone who lays bricks for a living.

Lonnie has been in the karaoke business for quite a long time; so of course he would be able to pick out a Sound Choice product. I don't think that the average guy walking down the street would know the difference between a Sound Choice track and a Chartbuster tracks if the logos weren't there. If you took a CB track and changed the background to black and change the letters to red and white it would look just like a SC track.

I can tell the difference as well...the Elvis IS identical to our SC (sorry SC but you are not our goto for Elvis)the other(Beatles) appears to be DK from my side by sides.....run it tru a graphic eq and they even show up the same on the graph except the REAL TV versions has more FUZZ than the real SC and DK's. The guy selling this is a MAJOR crook and needs to be taken down even if he is outside the US.
