Chris are you on the mailing list? I know 3 people that receive other emals from them but they state they did not receive this.

I have sporadically received emails from them for the last couple of years. Never purchased from them though. I may have signed up with them back when I started researching karaoke as a part-time gig.

I purchased a JB-99 (not a JB-199) in 2000. Mine came to me with 200 CAVs songs, and I loaded my cd's into it. I have NOT received any memos from them.

I received this email.
I purchased a software player from them years ago.
I guess I'm on their mailing list.

They are looking for those people that may have received an email from Sound Choice stating anything similar to the phrase; "an illegal CAVS unit" which may have made any potential customer decide against purchasing their product.

SC (in previous court documents) has admitted that a number of these emails were generated and sent.

I decided against purchasing their stuff because that dancing dog annoys the hell out of me......

I'm not sure why you would ask this question Athena?
Is this something Sound Choice wants you to report back to them with?

There is no need for Sound Choice to obtain information via Athena. We are currently involved in litigation with CAVS and will get the exact number, along with their names and email addresses, from CAVS through discovery.

If someone was sold a CAVS pre-loaded with SC but no discs then it would have been an illegal product. Is it libel to warn people about that?

No just curious....I'm sure SC can get the info if they wanted it. When I am posting info for SC or asking questions for them I state so in my post....no need for me not to.

OOPS saw Harrington's post after I answered sorry

Not even close... You'll get the only the ones that were "directly sent" but you won't get "the grapevine" of forwarded emails.... which is far greater I'm sure...

Even if I were to forward anything I don't think it would count as it was not sent to me directly. My curiosity was just piqued as I was contacted by a few that are on the list and did not receive the email in question.

I am sure SC will get the info one way or another.

I didn't buy one after both places (in ohio) that I looked at the unit in retail stores only offered them preloaded with 30000 songs (this was around 07 or 08) for like 3000.00 bucks. Neither retailer was offering a unit bare so I assumed at the the time it was a CAVS policy. I know differently now, but now I have no use for it.

I think their own retail distribution network did more damage to them than anything else.

Since the actual product ( which is the CAVS machine itself) is NOT illegal, it may well be actionable because the statement wouldn't have been true. Apparently CAVS believes that it is, and has gone forward.

I don't have any CAVS equipment other than a SCDG player (203G I think) which I don't use because I found the loading time of the format to be too slow.
