Post subject:  Is Digitrax off and running yet

I recently got an e-mail from a Digitrax salesman asking if I was interested in reselling their product. I told him definitely not untill at least they do some meaningfull protection of their song library(lawsuits) I do not feel that anything will work without some enforcement.I also found it strange that a digitrax salesman would still be selling thousands and thousands of chartbuster disks on e-bay.
So what is the answer
No Digitrax untill all remaining chartbuster is sold on e-bay?
Or is Digitrax really in business now.
Do the Digitrax owners know that chartbusters is being sold by the thousands on e-bay?
I already informed Sound Choice that this is going on
Very strange way to do business

Well that is certainly interesting. It was my understanding that digitrax was going to crush all of the remaining chartbuster discs earlier in the year. It seems as though they couldn't resist the allure of making a few spare dollars off of e-Bay.

That is nuts--that salesman for Digitrax has been selling on e-bay since May.--Hell I bought a few hundred just because they were 1.50 a piece.Jump over to e-bay and look.Just type in chatbusters and take a look.

Was it a legitimate Digitrax e-mail address? Did you contact Digitrax to check this out? Does this sales person actually work for Digitrax? It could be a scam. Can you put up a link to this E-Bay sale?

Well if I had questions about a "digitrax" salesperson, I would call Digitrax, not sound choice.

I have been a KJ for almost 20 years. I do know sound choice but they are hardly a "major player" anymore. And they have nothing to do with the Chartbuster/Digitrax library.

That would be like me having a problem with Apple and calling Microsoft.

Dave,
If a salesman that worked for CB had purchased a bunch of discs before CB went out of business he could sell them whenever and wherever he wished to do so. I myself purchased over 2000 discs before CB was finished for less than what these deals on Ebay are selling for. The fact that the salesman MAY be now working for Digitrax does not prevent him from making money on an end of business product he purchased. A little thought should make it clear how this could be legitimate no matter who is selling the discs.

Exactly. Anyone could have bought up large lots of CB discs/sets before they went under and resell them.

Can anyone say "side-of-a-barn-sized loophole"??? Here is another "scenario" for you, while they are being thrown out there:

Person in control of CB discs gets "Digitrax Salesman" to put them on Ebay; when they are sold, "Salesman" gives predetermined percentage in exchange for the sold discs, which "salesman" then ships to purchaser.

Speculation is interesting, yea, even entertaining, but not productive unless someone pursues a course of action...

also possible....but unlikely. I wish I had the $$$$ at the time to purchase many more discs during the "end of business sale"...I over tripled my money on the ones I have sold so far and expect to do better on the ones I sell later :D

many companies "morph"(as you put it) into more than 2 or 3.....look at banks or airlines for many examples

But how many morph from a company that was being pursued heavily on the legal front into a company who's sole purpose is to litigate? That's why this "morph" is dripping with irony.

...and how are the consumers supposed to separate the "wheat from the chaff" in this scenario? All this shifting of property and rights, and not knowing the legitimacy of said property and rights, etc., etc., etc........it truly is a daunting situation.

It just seems that a lot of decisions and incidents that occurred in and around 2009 have caused a cavalcade of change and redirection that has created an avalanche, the size of which is yet to be determined (the avalanche scenario may seem a bit over-the-top, but everything is relative, eh?).

But none consist of any of the owners of CB, so they didn't morph into anything. New owners altogether, new entity. So they bought (or tookover) the trademark and took over the litigation on their own behalf.
