Given the price, I'd say it's unlikely. |

OK Chris, I know you only asked for Harrington's legal "opinion".....but I must interject..........with the receits for every track from Tricerasoft....... 1. To sell hard drive? 2. Use for home use only? 3. Use for commercial use? "All three illegal" is fine, but I want to clear up any confusion........thanks.....jr PS.....does Tricerasoft even sell tracks from SoundChoice? |

I found it interesting that the ad points to the Safe Harbor program that specifically states - “But I bought my system from a reputable dealer and paid thousands of dollars for it. We are aware that there are numerous dealers who sell hard drives or CAVS systems, preloaded with Sound Choice tracks, and claim that all of the music is licensed. Don't be fooled: Sound Choice has never licensed anyone to sell preloaded hard drives. Those systems are illegal. You may have a lawsuit against the dealer. We will help you get legal and give you some tips for getting your money back from the dealer. We are also working through law enforcement and through civil actions in the courts to put these pirates out of business.” -Chris |

Did (does) Tricerasoft sells (sold) sound choice cdgs? Don’t know if this site is still active. Don’t know if it’s the same tricerasoft download site we’ve come accustomed to – but the answer is Yes! http://www.tricerasoft.com/update.html |

without the discs it is not legal. I do however think he has big balls advertizing with "certified legal" as his pitch. He has only sold this drive 10-12 times per people in his area. I wonder how good his copies of receipts are by the time they show up 3 or 4 times? Another area to check would be TOS from the download sites themselves. Is reasale allowed ? the few I have checked say they are not but I dont buy downloads and have only checked a few sites. |

If it were up to the cheerleaders; making a right turn on a red light would still be illegal. Putting your own purchased karaoke music onto a computer should NOT entail going through an audit that you have to pay for. Sound Choice should NOT be able to chase their customers down, ten years after the fact and want to examine what they purchased, not leased, in good faith. It's like saying that they didn't charge enough the first time around and they need more cash so their former customers are expected the feather their nest once again. |

It is my belief that Tyrannosoft did- WITH SC's permission, per Toqer (an ex-KIAA charter member, now disaffected). Toqer, if you remember him, has downloaded bunches for use at 7 Bamboo- and pushed others to do so. Now, of course, SC claims it didn't happen, and I think T-soft says the same- both lying. Get in touch with Toqer, or Rob/Joker from OKJT and you will know for certain. Then there is also the Dopi site from Australia. Gee, just for iPODS, right? Um, have I mentioned that several players now inlude iPOD docks? |

According to SC, Tricerasoft never had permission which is why they do not sell them. |

Selectatrack sold SC downloads rebranded as Karaoke Channel for awhile. They had 500 mostly hard rock/metal songs available. They are not available anymore. |
