Is sharing your recordings of yourself singing karaoke tracks with your friends and I would guess the whole world on such media outlets, is it legal? Do you need permission rights? Is anyone going after them? Might be something to think about.... Are we getting into a gray area that is not covered. And the backlash from that would carry over into home only users?????

Well, when the rights holders see something on Youtube that is theirs, and they say something, youtube usually just removes it. I don't believe that anyone can go after you for posting your songs on youtube.

If somebody has actually signed up to make money with their youtube, you can see where copyrited material could really get you in trouble. I've been putting karaoke on youtube for a few years. On many of my videos, they point out that I have third party material, but unless I receive further notice, nothing has to be done. Sometimes a video will not be able to be viewed in certain countries, including the US.

Does CB, All Star, SC have a say? Are we infringing on their rights?

So, CB, All Star, Etc. have no standing in court for that.

Ok so the only people we have infringed upon are the people that actually make the music, correct?

Got ya Thanks. We and several million other people.........like I said, it's worse to try & profit from others' works. You can't even wear a Bear's jersey in a picture/video & put it anywhere for someone to see.

Something about, "You can't paint our Pictures of Our Jerseys" or we sue you. (Follow The Benjamin trail)

Here's what I got from Micky.
I recently asked myself the same question, so here's the answer from Zoom
You’d need clearance from two parties for each song:
1) The record company (that’s us if you’re using our tracks) 2) The music publisher that controls the publishing rights to the songs you want to use (EMI, Universal, Sony etc.)
We charge a fee of £30 British Pounds per tracks to use our recordings in a project. That allows you to make unlimited physical copies and also sell/stream digital copies. It doesn’t cover the publishing aspect though.
Clears the air a little......
