Yes, it's me again.. another FYI post
I'm in Vegas for the Consumer Electronics Show, and spotted a clever little mic for home Karaoke.
Ships with 2000 midi songs, (Quite good quality) and they have (claim) 20,000 available.
Songs are on a "Chip", mic has 4 slots for the chiips..
Key change included.. Looked and sounded quite good.. $129.00 with 2000 songs..
I'm sure they don't have a license for all 20,000 songs..
They were showing a "Prototype" two mic wireless system too. (Not available yet)
so after checking the website, (It is blank) I'm sure I'm not interested..
I have much better equipment anyway..
Be aware, this stuff is out there..
And no, no links.

But it's midi, jd! Are you really in vegas for the ces? (partially kidding). Anyway, if you get a chance, can you please visit this exhibit. A new gadget from singtrix. Probably a cool item for home use or give as a gift. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OKX7iIxRVkhttp://www.singtrix.com/

You know what's scary? Working in northern NJ, I have a very large Korean demographic that would love to sing their own music.
While I have many foreign language discs ( Greek, Chinese, Latin, Hungarian- another sizeable demographic, even Hebrew) the only Korean tracks that I can find are on chips for these toys.
BTW, JD- YEARS ago you could get a disc from Van Basco's Karaoke for $20 that had 75,000 midi tracks. Geez what a mess THAT was..

I know, I know.. MIDI, right? But I gotta say, the best damn MIDI I've ever heard. Sounded just like a regular karaoke track recorded with a full orchestra... And the mic plays any MP3+g tracks you have.. And to clear the air, it's way to slow for a show.. but, only $129.00 retail.. Your mixing board is on the handle and truly, it's for the home audience.. FYI

Reminisce my first computer karaoke, Van Basco’s midi karaoke on my ibm Win95 desktop. Real ancient! Google search: van basco is still available, updated & free download.

Nice to know I didn't jump in that boat alone $20 for the disc- which- believe it or not- I stillhave somewhere. Not only did the MIDIs bite, but the find/file system was a disaster...
