This has to be the longest it has gone without a post in here! In my many endeavors in consumer advocacy posting and blogging, I have seen many of them wither and die, but I do not think that to be the case with this subject...guess all you KJs were just swamped and may have Post-Valentines' Depression! Anyways...

I think we've all been busy calculating how many times we should sing at our own shows.

Nah. Neither SC nor PR are actually doin anything worth talking about anymore, and when they do, they'pretty much screw it up. Nothing to debate.

Paradigm Karaoke, The New Standard.......Shift Happens

I agree with Joe Paradigm the legal process by the manus has proven to be one giant failure by any standards. While there are some high profile areas that have been hit time and again, mainly the rest of the country has be unaffected. That is why so many hosts look at you strange, if you mention anything about piracy or SC's or PR's attempts to do anything. Anything other than try and convince hosts the day of judgement is at hand and they better license or subscribe before they feel the "Wrath of Khan". If SC and CB/PR/DTE/WWD want to move forward they need to shed the past, this legal approach to business success isn't working.

Or maybe it's because we have heard the same stuff over and over. The same debates by the same people with thier same conclusions...

I think folks genuinely got tired of this sites bias towards the KIAA group and moved on.

Another reason could be the current level of b!t¢π-slapping going on here these days. Tends to bring down the post count.

Gee Insane sort of like the way Jim and SC appealed the results of the Panama City Florida case. We know how well that went, it was a waste of Jim's valuable time, since the original awards were not increased, and all SC got out of the whole expensive legal process was the fair retail value of their product. About $5,000 per defendant, a little over the cost of licensing GEM, hardly a cost effective way to run the legal process, is it?

Maybe we should run a poll as to why the people here have stopped posting comments on this specific subject.

1. We're too busy counting how many times we want to sing while hosting at our own shows.
2. We're too busy insulting each other.
3. We're too busy correcting other people's spelling and grammar.
4. We're sick and tired of the same people re-posting the exact same opinions and accusations over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again (did I mention over and over again?).
5. We're done beating this DEAD HORSE and have moved on.
6. I'm afraid that someone will insult or berate me if I post.
7. I got Laid!!!
8. I'd rather watch "Stupid People Tricks" on The Dave Letterman Show.

Which begs the question if we are so done beating this dead horse then why do people still post on the piracy only part of the forum? Is it because the problem has not gone away, and there is a certain amount of frustration that things are getting worse not better, despite the efforts of two lonely manus. The argument has gotten old because there are no new fresh ideas about how to solve the problem. Even more important the vast majority of hosts have decided to focus on their own karaoke service, and not worry about this whole show. That is all it really is a show to try and convince the pirates some one out there does care and is trying to do something.

I had to unhide LR's post to see what he had to say on this topic, and I'm glad I did, because I got a big laugh out of it.

What I get a big laugh out of Jim is the fact you are once again appealing a decision that has gone against SC. That lately you have been playing defense instead of attack, and that you have racked up quite a few losses. Not to mention SC has been ripped off by their own former agents. You will never tire of beating this horse as long as you think you can ride him a few more miles. After all suits drive sales, and without SC stirring the pot there won't be anymore illegal hosts licensing GEM. No GEM and Jim doesn't get his share right?

Sc is not appealing the case, kandy store is.

Why would it be necessary for Kandy Store to appeal the court decision they won?

SC is appealing the case, and with good reason.

Kandy Store filed a cross-appeal of Judge Nugent's decision denying them the attorney fee award they sought.
