PEP acquires Chartbuster.

Jim wasn't kidding when he said they had a lot of things going on this week.

We'll have a full announcement about what this means for the CHARTBUSTER KARAOKE® brand in the coming days. The major change will be that PEP will take over the enforcement efforts from Piracy Recovery and roll those into our existing efforts regarding SOUND CHOICE®. We are also working on a plan for limited new production under the CHARTBUSTER KARAOKE label. More to come on that soon.

So will this require us to be audited to media shift our Chartbuster discs?

I can't say at this point. One issue is that the old Chartbuster certification program was a bit of a mess, and was made worse when the former company (Digitrax's predecessor) issued a lot of certificates on their way out the door based on KJs buying their hard drive system. Of course, all of those certificates are now expired.

In any event, as I said, we'll have more information for you in the coming days.

Mine's not.... It has no ending date.

PS: When you're going to spend that kind of money, and the other end is desperate for it, it's possible to negotiate your own terms....

I was referring to the certificates issued automatically with purchase of the HD system, not all CB certificates.

Naw, I don't even display the SC logo on my sign.

Most of my Chartbuster songs came from the short-lived KJ Media Pro. What does this announcement do to me.

Well I guess its a good thing we didnt list that 1000 disc library with rips and book file on ebay yet.....the starting bid just doubled.

I seriously doubt this will drive up the price of Chartbuster discs. Could be wrong, but considering the massive amount of CB that was dumped on the market by CB themselves *AND* the rise of downloads, CB won't ever be as hot.

Good news for me. I have even more CB than I do SC.

Same here. That initial fire sale plus the ongoing dump of CB products on the market has given me more CB material that any other brand. Followed closely by SC and PHM.

That would be my order as well if I include Sing It Now, Top Hits Monthly and other Stellar labels. Music Maestro and Pocket Songs would take spots 4 and 5.

Please Pep, take over Music Maestro. I love the quality of those disks.
