Some good songs on there can't knock them for that, but many of the other manufacturers have had them out for ages already. I imagine many of the people who buy this will be those with a particular allegiance for PHM and who don't mind rolling the tracks themselves.

I'm not ready to "Roll My Own" just yet. Since all of their new releases are now going to be in that format, I don't even care to see what titles they are making available... at least, not until I decide that I might feel comfortable using RYOK tracks.

I have only created my own CDG files for two songs so far. It's a pain, and I'd rather not have to do it. Only songs that I've been after the karaoke video for ages are currently on the to-do list. As for PHM's RYOK, if they make my favourite songs happy days. But Bastiat himself admitted that the current version of Beethoven was "clunky", so until I have the anticipated new version at my disposal then it's KBS all the way. Again, if I can be bothered. :)

Wow! Very Surprised to see that their March Releases are out so soon after the February discs were released. Still no songs that I don't already have that I wanted to sing. They're still way behind with titles even though they don't have to wait for licensing for the lyrics.

WOW, they should just go out of business, too. I am not going to add my own lyrics. Sorry, not gonna happen.

I really don't understand you guys.

I purchased PHM from 1997 through 2010. I'm a happy customer and I'm grateful for PHM tracks because they sound better than other tracks.

Not many tracks I can compare, but I like PHM version of Picture ( Kid Rock + Sheryl Crow) Lips of An Angel, Kryptonite, and much more. PHM sounded the best.

Also one of my customer loved PHM version of You raise me up rather than Sound Choice.

The reason why I don't purchase PHM any more is because of the CDG Quality. I don't complain out loud, and I'm not planning on changing my machines. But If the quality of the CDG was good, I would had been buying.

After 2010 I never bought any PHM till I found out they had some Imagine Dragons song, and the song Radioactive from PHM is way better than Sunfly.

Now with that said, telling them to go out of business? Wow. SMH.

Maybe the other tracks like Dark Horse, Story of My Life, PHM sounds better.

I tip off my cap and tell them Good Luck to them.

maybe you missed the whole point on the conversation because it was talked about in a different posting.

PHM no longer produces karaoke tracks on disc. it's call "Roll Your Own Karaoke". you have to produce your own lyrics to the music backing track they sell. they do give you proprietary software that will add lyrics for your but there is a rating game associated with it. and the lower the rating the less accurate the software is able to sync the lyrics to the music. oh yeah and you have to supply your own lyrics, hand typed or copied off some website.

most of use here work full time and run karaoke as a second job and have no time for this.

and I also fell the same as smoothedge, i'm not wasting my time on doing my own lyric syncing.

and you stated that you purchased up to 2010, music was still good until end of 2012 then they started having issues with getting licensing to release top 10 songs. and they start producing crap. that's when the "RYOK" came into play. this enabled them to release top charts songs without paying licensing for syncing tracks. and putting us in jeopardy with no one paying any licensing at all.
I believe it will come back to bite us in the asss in the future!

and I just visted their website - no new releases since march so maybe they've already stopped production totally.

I know they produce RYOK. I sell some PHM karaoke cdg's at our store also. Even though we don't use the later versions, we still buy and *sometimes sell*.

But let me say this, PHM sells both Instrumental and Vocal versions of karaoke, what if their market was to get those that have their own karaoke machines? Instead of Karaoke DJ's or Business. Some customer's that I see never heard of downloads or websites like Select-A-Track,etc and they would like PHM because their CDG's have vocals and business like SC and All-Star don't have one.

Well W/E the case,

My question is I never tried RYOK but can't you copy and paste the lyrics in. It's easy to find lyrics. Or is it copy and pasting lyrics per slides?

Never heard of rating game. Sounds lame though.

But I gotta say, because they change their method, and made it harder, is it proper and polite to wish them to close their business? Everyone is struggling, you guys, the karaoke producers.
