I see those questions quite a bit still, often referring to that link. Or just answering their question. But even in that sticky, it went so far off topic and arguments ensued within when it was just supposed to be informational.
I will continue to be helpful to those that ask where to find a song.

Well, in most forums, that's where a moderator (or someone with the permissions to do so) prunes the thread to keep it's original intent intact. I would do it since I started that thread, but I don't have such privileges.

So you think it's better to just tell people - hey go look it up yourself? Alright i'll refer everyone to that thread only.

I'm not a fish eater - allergic to seafood so analogy doesn't apply.

No, not at all. Do both. I fail to understand why giving people more information is a bad thing.

Unless of course you don't want to give away your super secret karaoke song sources or something.

First I go to Icroons. Next, I check Karaoke-Version to see if there's at least an instrumental backing track. Finally I look on Customburn to see if the song's on Sing To The World as they don't show up on Icroons. the only time I use KJ Pro these days is if I want Sound Choice. I look to see what discs the song is on, then search the net for the disc. It can be cheaper than getting a custom disc from Clark.

For instrumentals there are literally hundreds of sites. I found some songs that I've been wanting/needing for years that everyone said were absolutely not available - the basic song search sites would've never helped with those searches. Icroons is a basic search site, but doesn't list everything, and if it's an instrumental only, don't list them at all. Nor All Star or Digitrax songs.

I went out and bought a brand spankin' new computer today. I had to throw the old one away because my posts kept disappearing from this thread. I hope this new computers works better.

Are we back to square-one? With all due respect, Bazza that’s exactly what we’re trying to do - giving him more info direct to the site. As the saying goes, time is money that every minute goes by with no result is time wasted. The more you know enables you to accomplish more in a short period of time. I’m almost positive Gemini knows how to access other sites as well (been a ks member for over 6yrs) but as Lon mentioned they’re not completely accurate.

I have no intention of getting into a pi$$ing contest with you, or with anyone for that matter. Just saying! peace, bro!

Try these guys, they're in England but if you pay through Paypal there are no international fees. They have a good sized library and sound really good. Best thing is that they have periodic sales where part or all of their library is only 24p (reg price 1.49 pounds) a song. I recently picked up a couple of tracks for a friend and spent less than a dollar for both. The tracks were played through the stage sound system from the local theater arts center and sounded great.

I get e-mails from ameritz all of the time promoting those sales but they never seem to have anything that I'm looking for. I always click on the new releases looking for songs but
they never seem to have much in that department. Some of their "new releases" are songs that are many years old.

I believe that a thread containing HOW and WHERE to find songs on your own is a good thing for everyone. And if they don't work, make a post and Lon will find it for you with his super secret sources.
