I don't have it on either of my systems, but I could have sworn that SC had the version, so I sang it at another venue and it was the album version. I know it's out there, can anyone tell me what disc it's on so I can pick it up? Thanks!

What is the 'live' version. I know of the original studio version with the full band, the piano version he remade in the 80's & the version for Princess Di. SC only made the studio version as far as I know. Pioneer & a couple of the off brands made the piano version. CB & some others made the Princess Di version (Goodbye Englands Rose).

I'm looking for this version, but I don't want the altered lyrics of the Princess Di version, I've sang it before, just can't remember the manu. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoOhnrjdYOc

That sounds more like the Pioneer version with no other instruments but the piano. That is probably the more popular version for many.

You're right Lon. Oops, haste makes waste by posting way too fast. Sorry. I meant this one like you suggested. Click on the PS version. http://www.selectatrack.com/search.aspx ... n-the-wind

Thanks for the help guys. Lon, I checked out that Pioneer version and it seems to be the closest to the one I remember. What I like about the piano version is the measure break in between "Your candle burned out long before" and "your legend ever did". I also discovered that the supercore, kjtools and Pioneer tracks all have the same music for that tune.

I think the Zoom Version might also be what you're looking for.

All I hear is the piano and just a hint of maybe an organ on ZML001-06. No drums strings or background singers. Apparently Zoom made more than one version of the song. ZMP105-06 is the version with the whole band.

Yeah it looks like they made both versions. The only version listed at SAT & Tricerasfot to sample is the full band. The best version still IMO (besides the Pioneer) is the Mr Entertainer.
