Gives your audience the ability to play REAL guitar on your stage. And it's actually easier to do than playing Guitar Hero or Rock Band. You just press the button and strum - and you're playing a real guitar! Exclusive areas are still available, but you must act now to get in on the ground floor. You've got the sound system. You've got the karaoke equipment. Add the ChordBuddy Karaoke package. Add $2,000 to your monthly bottom line! http://www.chordbuddykaraoke.com/If anyone is interested please let me know!

looks like you need to step up your deal, do ya think? The songs are actually $2.99 per song. Like I explained earlier, if you already have the guitar or Chord Buddy the pricing is different.

thanks getting some good answers here, but just one more question:
are the 100 songs pre-selected, or do we get to choose.
as i already own essentials 450 1-7, i don't think a pre-selected song pack will work for me.

I was literally logging on here to post about this very topic. I received your email and called about it today. I do see where this might go over in certain venues. I am considering it, but would like others to type in with their opinions. Gretchen, any idea on how far you will be taking the library for this? As i see it that would be my biggest concern. On that topic, can you tell me some specifics, as in are you going to have new releases tied to this/monthly updates etc.? What about going back deep into the library and producing the oldies but goodies for this as well? Thanks! (it was great seeing you in vegas)

We are making as many new tracks available as possible. This new technology actually takes longer than our regular karaoke tracks. We are going into back catalogs for some oldies but goodies! We are hoping to be putting new ones out every month. (by new ones, I mean new for Chord Buddy. not monthly hits)

Are these the same 100 tracks that come on the DVD with the cord buddy or different tracks ? and will new tracks be available for purchase as "singles"?

Hmmm. Mixed feelings. Kinda gimicky, but interesting. If you believe the marketing that says "Easier than the easy mode of guitar hero/rock band" then it's mind numbingly easy. Then again, everything is all fun & games until some drunk guy pulls a "Pete Townsend"!

If you purchase it at Walmart you can get the extended plan that covers ALL damage for 9.99. This refunds the purchase price as soon as item is dropped off at UPS for return. Also the Chord Buddy comes with 20 tracks available for download. That should be enough to see if it will have any "draw" for your market. DT is just "skimming the cream" so to speak and will have to offer downloads or this will be a "flash in the pan" The Chord Buddy offered without the guitar on Amazon contains a DVD with 100 songs, that could be the same 100 songs DT has available at this time. I would bite if I could just buy the tracks either in bundles or individually. $109.00 for the package from walmart(with extended plan) + $239.20 for the remaining tracks = $349.19. Or Amazon deal (no guitar, and 100 songs on DVD) $49.99 + shipping if you have access to guitars.

Most of my singers can barely use a mic, much less a guitar. Also, "just strumming" a guitar is not as easy as it sounds to a novice without a musical background. You can't just throw this device that does a few chords for you onto a guitar and start playing guitar. Musical rhythm is often more difficult than the basic chords the chord buddy covers, IMO. Certainly much much more difficult than Guitar Hero.
I think ChordBuddy would serve as a gimmick at best. I'll pass.

If you think that listening to terrible singers is bad; wait until you hear someone playing a guitar badly while you're trying to enjoy your night out. I would never go to a place that offered the "Chord"

I think the whole "Guitar Hero" thing has already run it's course. Had they come to market with this 4 years ago I would have jumped on it with little to no hesitation.

-Chris This is different than guitar hero - it's actually karaoke for guitar - but instead of the vocals missing where someone sings them, the guitar track is missing, you have a real guitar hooked up & they play the missing guitar part to the rest of the music. I have seen it a while back where one could delete any instrument of a song, but it was short lived.

On the one hand, I think that it's a cool concept and could be a lot of fun.
On the other hand, I don't see just anybody being able to get up there and use it. A lot of people are not very coordinated and even though the screen prompts you to hit the right color, some of those cord changes happen pretty fast and I'm sure many folks will be hitting the wrong buttons.
And not everyone will know how to strum a guitar properly or keep with the rythem of the music.
And then you'll have the drunks. The same ones that are inconsiderate of your equipment, will abuse your guitar too.
And then you'll have the show offs who will start acting stupid and being irratating.
And then you'll have another piece of equipment (a big piece) that you have to lug around.
So, is it worth it? I'm still deciding. How about you?
