I agree. They seem to have lost their way over the years with all those lawsuits and forgotten why they got into this business in the first place.

Probably wouldn’t be interested if marketing this new music is via the same platform – cdgs only & buy it from distributors. Unless of course the tracks are new releases from well known artists & they can hit the market faster than the rest. I'll buy that. Did they mention anything about joining the bandwagon – downloads? (sc & not as). If so, then I’m definitely in.

I'm not supporting Sound Choice's business practices any longer. They've created an environment where KJs are afraid to play their material; even when you bring it to the bar on aSound Choice original disc...so why should I buy something that I can only use at home? Some KJs treat a Sound Choice disc like it contains some sort of virus that will bring in the undercover attack force if it gets played during their show.
Way to go Kurt.

Wow....took exactly 1 reply to turn a positive post about Sound Choice turned into a legal/lawsuit thread.
@Bruce - Speak for yourself, please. I am happy to buy and play Sound Choice material as are many other hosts in my area. The KJ's that treat it like a virus need to educate themselves.
I am excited about Sound Choice creating new content. I would prefer it be available to download or in a pre-ripped format like their GEM series, but I would be happy buying CD+G discs too as long as the content is desirable and the price is right.

I think I've heard this before.....
In any event, I'd say they have their work cut out for them. While they are known for making premier renditions, I think it would be fair to say that the marketplace is so competitive that just about everyone is putting out top-notch music, especially Stellar/Pop Hits Monthly.
Furthermore, their business model would almost have to change completely. CD's are becoming increasingly rare, even in the karaoke industry. I think if they couldn't survive back then with only disk sales, they certainly won't be able to survive now.

I'd buy them if they were songs not currently available (or that I didn't have already) - disc or whatever format.

-Chris And that is exactly what they should expect here as a response as well as at the cash registers. It's a horrid idea to spend money on new productions while they continue to bite\sue the hand that feeds them. All the while they'll make CDs and continue to place all the blame on pirates instead of accepting their own part of blame for not embracing the shifts in technology.

AS usual...one dissenting vote is enough to burst the Cheerleader bubble. I was, in fact, only speaking for myself. It is only MY OPINION that Sound Choice has ruined their name in the karaoke world. If you mention Sound Choice in today's world, the first reaction many people give you is a negative one. Because of the fear that SOUND CHOICE has placed on KJs, some KJs won't play any customer discs at all because they are afraid someone might try to slip in a Sound Choice song and they could end up getting sued for trying to please one of their customers. I and I am ONLY speaking for myself, will not support a company that is poisoning the local drinking water. EVERYONE ELSE may do whatever they want to do.

Really?????????????What has Stellar put out in the past 12 months that has been so top notch? I stopped purcahsing PHM, because all I have been seeing is a disc with 7 - 8 songs FLUFF, and the remaining 2 are current hits that people are asking for.

I guess I should have clarified: Top Notch Music is of good quality..... not neccesarily what people are wanting to sing. I haven't bought a PHM disk in quite some time, but I have almost always been happy with the disks I have purchased - the quality of the renditions that is.

I can count on both hands with fingers left over what people actually sing on the last year of PHM. They even admitted themselves that their selection the last couple years isn't what they normally would put out.

As a part of my Stellar/PHM CAP agreement, I also picked up the auto-ship for a year. I let that run dry late last year.
Like Troy, I like the quality of the music they are doing right now, they just aren't releasing anything that is being requested or that I feel I could interest people in.
