Hmmmm. Unplugged series of songs that were never unplugged to begin with is nothing i've EVER been asked for???
I have been asked for alot of the MTV Unplugged series - Nirvana, Eric Clapton, Eagles, Kiss, etc. Will any of these be coming out?

We aren't just going by the MTV versions. We have created a new line. These are for Contests and hosts that would like to spice things up. That is also why we are doing the 10+10. That way you can hear it with the vocals as well.

BTW- The Eagles no longer license their music for karaoke.

So to spice up a song, you remove instruments from it? I thought that spicing up a song would be adding something to it instead of removing something from it.

Karaokeversion.com has 56 Customizable tracks by the Eagles that you can remove any of the original instruments and leave in just what you want.

I really am not trying to slam here, but i've been doing this for over 20 years. Never once have I had a request for an 'unplugged' version of something that wasn't unplugged commercially. It just seems like a very small 'niche' market. I know I cannot afford to buy anything like that just because it's different nor has ever been asked for. NONE of those songs even get done regularly or even on occasion for the regular version - at least at my show (I know i'm just 1 out of thousands upon thousands). There are so many songs that aren't even tapped that SHOULD be made i'd rather see you guys focus the money on producing personally.
I was just using the Eagles as an example.

No slam taken. We are currently working on new production as well as the Unplugged line. We are focusing on Country because that is what we do best. The Unplugged is just another series that we are putting out.

They have actually done really well. There are a lot of singers out there that are looking for unique arrangements of songs.

We are currently looking for more ideas for this line. So keep them coming. We cannot get the licensing for Nirvana or Alice In Chains. But you will see more Clapton and Kiss coming out soon.

Gretchen - I would like to encourage DigiTrax to make more unplugged versions of well known songs. I sing 6 of the previous unplugged tracks you released and I am getting my singers engaged with them as well. For me it isn't so much about what is requested (I do locate requested tracks though) as much as it is what I can introduce people to. I have been going to karaoke for a LONG time now. If I never hear Picture, Total Eclipse..., or Don't Stop Believin' again, I will never miss them. *BUT* if I could introduce remixed versions of those same tracks to my singers, I would love to do so. There are a lot of songs I would love to do, but I just don't like the popular arrangements.

You should look into Boyce Avenue if you haven't heard them already. Very creative versions of popular songs. Karaoke Version have a ton of them.
