Brian, Thanks for the tip on that website, I found a great country song "Kiss you tonight" by David Nail that i have googled and searched for that no one else has! The rendition is note perfect! I'm as happy as a kid on christmas morning.

I came across buy karaokedownloads a few years ago and was a little suspicious, so I sent them an email. I saved their response just in case I was ever liable. "Our songs are licensed thru HFA (Harry Fox Agency) for distribution to our customers for personal use and for DJ/KJ's use. The venues that play the songs must have license agreement thru SOCAN (Canada)to publicly play or broadcast the songs. Dale D. According to one of our Canadian kj's, SOCAN does NOT license karaoke. And Harry Fox ONLY licenses the music, not the graphics portion.
Think about it, an illegal website is not going to tell you that their songs are illegal for pro use.

Think about it, an illegal website is not going to tell you that their songs are illegal for pro use. Then they are mistaken because I have seen the application forms that the bars have to send to socan. There is an actual box for karaoke, and it costs more than regualar music. -James

i'm new and finally came to see what I'd signed up for. Hopefully the information you provided helps me in my search for music. The host I know don't say but he got his systems from someone else who used to.
My searches online often go to useless spots. I am contemplating buying a system and venturing out. It's finding reviews on equipment that is hard. Stores will sell you the brand they carry but usually not a word of advice outside their stuff. Hosts I know run the cheapest junk available and it shows.
Thanks again for the list, will look at rest of posts for more info.

But, you can by the CD and convert them to your PC to use digitally right?
What's their position on that?

What's their position on that? As long as you keep the original manu disc and go through an audit you can transfer your computer.
