Listening to the previews now. I have to say.. WOW! I will probably be buying the album from itunes at some point, which is saying something because I don't buy a lot of music *i either listen to it on youtube to practice for karaoke or listen to the radio*

I grew up with Boston and saw them at the Texxas Jam in the 80's. They had the giant organ on stage. It was amazing.

RIP Brad Delp.

Interesting. This must be archive stuff as Brad Delp, their iconic lead singer, committed suicide six years ago.

Probably mostly unreleased and maybe some newer stuff since they are also listing the Myspace singer/soundalike they found a couple years back.

I’m a big old boston fan, Brad Delp as the frontman. Big songs such as long time, more than a feeling, peace of mind, etc. It’s got to be Brad’s vocal & Tom’s guitar or it’s not Boston imho. Just like CCR without John Fogerty, or Queen without F Mercury. But let’s wait & see. Not knocking it, just takes some time getting used to.

After going to the site and hearing all the previews, I could only pick out Brad Delp on one song. The others were lackluster and the one with the girl singer was atrocious.

Brad Delp is as close to irreplaceable as it gets. But Journey replaced Steve Perry and Foreigner replaced Lou Gramm so it is possible. I would argue that both are probably better off today with the replacement than sticking to the originals (although neither are technically the "original"). I question if Steve Perry could still get it done and I am certain Lou Gramm can't. Please keep in mind I am a HUGE fan of both bands and both singers. I'm just keeping it in perspective (for me).

John Fogerty does not need the remaiining members of CCR as he still sounds fantastic with his new band. CCR certainly isn't the same without him.

Alice In Chains is still pretty successful with Layne Staleys replacement.

I think Alice in Chains is better now, but I'll admit that is very subjective.

This discussion reminded me of a video I saw the other day. REO Speedwagon is way up on my list as you probably know. I always figured Kevin Cronin would be very hard to replace.

Then I saw this:
