As widely dispersed as we all are, and with all the different musical tastes we may have, and what may be popular in one region, but not in another, I haven't seen anyone responding back with an, "Oh WOW!!! I've been waiting for that song to come out," or "I can't wait to try that song." PHM is just not doing it for us, and Tom already posted his apologies in that matter. As for the PHMC, I haven't heard 1 single one of those songs (yet) on "The Highway" - Sirius XM Channel 59). BTW... Who didn't vote... 3 of us have posted, and there's only 2 votes.

Quite the coincidence that, someone requested that Edward Sharp song the night before I saw this post...

In all fairness, I've been posting the new releases from All Star and The Cloud for my singers and asking them to tell me which ones to order and so far have only had 2 or 3 requests come out of it. Even though the songs are more recognizable they haven't jumped on singing them yet. They want the ones I can't get on disc yet or the No Flyers.....
The other thing is it seems to take some songs a bit to catch on as far as being done. Everyone probably has that singer that wants you to hunt down some now obscure song that they just have to do. Maybe we will be hunting some of these PHMs some day. I know that won't help their current business but maybe I will sample some of these songs and see if they sound like something that would be fun to sing.
Come to think of it I had better start posting the new PHM releases for my singers and see if anything happens.

I need to change my "no" vote to "maybe."
I now pronounce PHM to be the official supplier to Indie Karaoke Shows everywhere--if only there were any. But maybe instead of being "losers" they are just ahead of their time (I'm really marketing here.) But there are some very singable, upbeat songs on at least the first set of songs I'm listening to. I've been looking for newer songs to do myself that are energetic but wouldn't be stealing from what the other singers would want. This might fit the bill. I know people tend to glass over when they don't recognize a song but a lot of these are good dancers and might be worth a try.

Actually, I am MORE likely to buy from PHM than before. Not only has Mr. Pop Hits Monthly himself been on the Forum, he has both explained the situation and responded to the criticism in a concise and honest manner. Tom could've made all the excuses under the sun for why PHM isn't delivering if he'd wanted to (and like somebody else in his position might've), but instead he admitted where there were failings on his part. He knows we are not idiots and doesn't treat us like such, and I respect that. I have no problem with buying an entire disc for one track from a company with that sort of person at the top. It's like with Rob at Sing To The World and Customburn, he took the time to come on here and listen to us (along with other things) that make me more inclined to do business with his companies. Ultimately, it's about good customer service! For me anyway.

hell if I had money to throw away, i would get them just because I happen to like the quality of the music at least and sometimes you just never know
but as somone who doesn't host anymore and is on a disability income, I just don't have that luxury

I dropped buying them a few months ago because out of the two+ years I did buy from them, a simple report from my hosting software told me that maybe a handful (literally I can count on two hands) of their songs were ever sung (figure 3 discs times 9 for2 years approx 648 songs). Not going to waste money on stuff that isn't sung nor even desired by our customers - I don't care how good the quality is, if it isn't what people want, it's a waste of money that can be spent on songs people actually ask for. Once they get back to putting out stuff people actually want, I'll be the first to jump back in!

They play her songs on the radio here so there is at least an awareness of her locally. But so far the only request is for her version of "Angel From Montgomery" and not the newer ones.

I've said it before, I'll say it a million times. I love PHM when they put out hard to find and rare stuff. In fact, my fiance freaked out about the last Pop release because they had a Jim James song, which happens to be her favorite song of the moment right now. My regulars and I love finding songs off the beaten path, and I'll always be happy to purchase them. I'm even thinking of subscribing to the Pop/Urban monthly releases!
