One man that rock the 80's....was Bruce Springsteen and what a way to start the new year (2014 ) then with a new releases from the boss himself. Bruce Springsteens new album is due out Jan 14th. I just heard the first song off it on ITUNES "HIGH HOPES" honestly wasn't very impressed I just hope the rest of the album is better..but I glad he is back

IGNORANCE MUST TRULY BE BLISS.

Here's a short list od Springsteen's album releases for the last ten years or so, for the trult clueless.

THE RISING, 2002
DEVILS AND DUST 2005
WE SHALL OVERCOME, THE ESEEGR SESSIONS 2006
MAGIC 2007
WORKING ON A DREAM 2009
WRECKING BALL 2012
HIGH HOPES 2014

SEVEN, COUNT 'EM, SEVEN albums released in 12 years and you say he's BACK??? He has been touring almost conitinuously for the last two years in support of THE WRECKING BALL album...and you say he's BACK? Get a clue. The man is 62 years old and he still puts on 3 and a half to 4 hour shows. No opening acts. Just THE MAN and his band. He played so long in England that the only way they could get him to stop was to turn off the power because he played past curfew. BACK???? Really?

Since 1975, Bruce has realeased 15 albums. Thirteen of them have charted in the top 5 with EIGHT of them hitting NUMBER ONE!

Bruce THE BILLIONAIRE Springsteen

Hahahaha not even close! But we all have our heroes that we over-inflate.

Still.....Absolutely astronomical to us normal folks but you would need 288 Bruce Springsteens to equal 1 Bill Gates and I would argue that Springsteen hasn't changed the world whereas Bill Gates most certainly has.

That's sort of a cynical thing for a karaoke host to say. I know of one fellow who proposed to his love by singing "Tougher Than The Rest" to her. I guess Bruce Springsteen helped to at least change their little world. Music can be a rather life enhancing thing.

I am a cynic. No problem admitting that.

There is a difference between literally changing the entire world and changing the world for one person.

The world can change one person at a time. There are many inventions that change the way we live our lives, give us more convenience, connect us more and even save lives. But the bottom line of what makes life worth living still revolves around relationships. Music has always played a huge role in gathering us and even inspiring us. People were singing and managing to live their lives long before we ever had computers.

I don't like Bruce Springsteen's Music. So I will always have something snarky to say about it. Especially since I can simultaneously take a jab at BruceFan4Life. That is all I am really doing here. No need to dive down a philosophical rabbit hole.

I never compared Bruce Springsteen to anyone. Bruce has sold over 650 MILLION albums at a price of at least 10 dollars per album and probably at least that many concert tickets at an average price of 100 dollars.... but since you brought up those other incredibly wealthy men, let me ask you a question. How many tickets do you think that they could sell to people, just to listen to them talk about writing computer code? Would the same people pay for those tickets night after night after night to be entertained?

Bill Gates and Steve Jobs are rich because they created machines. Bruce Springsteen is famous because he creates art. Given a choice; I'd rather create art.

Rich isn't the best way to describe Steve Jobs. I think dead would describe him best these days.

Bruce may have sold billions, but he didn't get to put nearly that much in his pocket.

Lots of people pay to hear computer geeks talk about computer geek stuff. I know because people have paid to come here little old me talk about software. Bill gates is slightly more well known than me. :)

Computer code *IS* Art. It just depends on the eyes of the beholder.

Finally, Bill Gates has created more millionaires though the creation of Microsoft and all of the supporting partners and businesses that use Microsoft products. How many millionaires has Bruce Springsteen created?

But again.....Bruce's wealth is significant and impressive. Especially considering how blah I consider most of his music is.

There is a reason that i-tunes sells more than one kind of music. Every person has their own individual tastes in music. One man's gold is another man's crap. It is not my job to convert anyone into being a Springsteen fan. There are people out there who don't like The Beatles. There are people out there who don't like The Rolling Stones. There are people out there who don't like Elvis Presley. There are people out there who don't like Frank Sinatra. There are people out there who don't like Metallica. There are people out there who don't like Jazz. There are people out there who don't like Country Music.. There are people out there who don't like Classical Music. None of these people are wrong in their likes or their dislikes. They are just different in their own way. Some people just can't appreciate every form of musical art and some people can only appreciate one kind of music. 'Cest La Vie!

Would That Be The BWitched version, or the Bob Seger Version?

C’est la vie! Too many meanings & interpretations. Could’ve been Sinatra’s version “that’s life”, or the Eagles “Get over it”, or Lou Bega’s “Sh8t happens”. LOL
