Just thought I'd drop in here....I've been the lead music producer for most of what you hear on All Star Karaoke discs for the past few years. Unfortunately it seems like the company is breaking up. I was stunned, I certainly didn't see this coming. They were good people to work with, and I know they too are sad this is all taking place. I enjoyed doing the tracks, especially the country stuff, as I for the most part I always used great fiddle players and steel players from Nashville, good singers and tried to do a good job on the tracks. Understandably, karaoke is never going to sound like the real records EXACTLY because there are no budgets, no time. But I've learned to work very fast and usually come up with a good sounding track. I also did the "Frozen" music for All Star, which was a lot of fun as I love doing orchestral music. Anyway thanks for your support over the years, and I'll let you all know if I hook up with another company soon. Also, anyone out there who would like custom tracks can contact me if you'd like, as I have always done custom tracks for those who need something that isn't out there. Thanks all! TH |

Wow. I don't have much from All Star, but I am happy with what I do have. Sad to see another company go under. :/ Didn't the web site get redone recently? |

Well looks like someone beat me to it, but I was gonna say that it looks like the website is still selling downloads for the moment, don't know about custom discs. Get your songs while they are still available. I may just try to fill up my disney collection, since there were a couple of discs that are no longer available for sale *at least I haven't found them yet* -James |

Unfortunately, now another avenue for pirates to flourish with decent tracks available to them for zero costs. I'm happy I'm not still active in the karaoke business, it's getting brutal. |

TH OK...wait a min...hold the phone...STOP..BACKUP...REWIND...another karaoke company gone..what is going on???? What's going on mainly is that people are just not buying the discs. There's too much piracy out there, and iTunes sales are WAY WAY down. Stores like Wal Mart and Best Buy are reducing the space available for hard copies....like CDs...so karaoke discs suffer even more, like all CDs. Streaming seems to be then new thing but even that is not breaking sales records. It's a tough time to be in music, as if there was ever an easy time. TH |

Based on the posts here, I decided to start using my prepaid cards to make up a few Custom CDGs. I have 2 cards with 65 credits available. I have made Custom orders from All Star before, but this time, it was a little different. There was no option in the order for me to name my disc or place the songs in a different order (like I originally did on my past orders). I did not complete placing the order, and decided to use the CONTACT US form. When I typed my issue in the form and sent it, I received an e-mail that the All Star address did not exist. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm |

I spent all my credits yesterday. Didn't spend a lot of time looking and just got some newer country stuff I normally wouldn't get. I could not find the download option this time so I ordered a disc. No rush so it's no biggie.. |

Quote: iTunes sales are WAY WAY down According to the REAL numbers, iTunes sales were up year over year EVERY year of their existence until 2013, when singles sales were down 5.7% and album sales were down 0.1%. Hardly WAY WAY down. They (iTunes alone, not all digital sales) still raked in about $12,000,000,000 in sales, so they are hardly hurting. And think about that for a second. Sale were up year over year EVERY YEAR since iTunes was created until 2013. Well, there was certainly rampant piracy prior to 2013. Translation, the small dip is not a direct result of piracy, it's just the maturation of the market segment. This is further evidenced by the fact that Q1 2014 iTunes revenue was UP 19% year over year. The piracy didn't stop or even slow down. It's part of the business model at this point. They forecast piracy in their actuarial tables, it's not some unknown factor. Anyway, please don't go scaring people with your "WAY WAY down" non-sense. Look at the actual numbers, it's very accessible information! |

I believe Oceantracks is telling the truth and that we are in for a tough time when it comes to getting new music. Our US manufacturers have been squeezed between the losses from piracy and the increased demands from publishers. They are making it almost impossible for our US companies to compete and stay in business. |

Hey, according to some folks around here, they don't need any music produced after 2009 to run a great show so why worry about it? |

leopard lizard, That's kinda my point. Piracy is a reality in the business that isn't going away. The companies that have adapted to that reality and account for it as a standard cost of doing business are doing just fine. Those that whine about it and have a business model that doesn't account for it are losing their butts. That's poor accounting more than it is piracy ruining the industry. There is no magical future where unicorns skip across the sky and piracy doesn't exist. You have to account for it in your business model, else go the way of All-Star and the rest! |

I would certainly believe that CD\Disc sales are way way down. I would be shocked if they were not. I don't think I have purchased physical media in 2-3 years aside from the disc I purchased last night. |
