Thanks Lon, but I have half the songs on that disc, and the rest I don't even want. I'll wait. If I badger a couple people enough they will make it happen.

No offense intended , but it's not worth 16 bucks to you , and someone should spend a few thou to remake it so you can buy it for 2.

With as little new material coming out as there is , I'm missing something here.

LOL...agreed. If it's not worth getting a disk that's already in production, you can't need it that bad.

I toured Big Mama studios back in the mid 2000s when Chartbuster was still recording there. I was talking with one of the engineers, and even back then, he told me that they had to sell about 8,000 of any given disc before it started being profitable. That was the basic break even point for a CDG.

I'm sure individual digital sales have a bit less overhead these days, you have to know that a manufacturer has to expect to sell a crapton of the song before they will even consider production, and a specialty version of a song originally released in 1998 has pretty much no chance of making the cut.

Good luck, but don't hold your breath! Pay the $16 and get your song.

No. Not until they either change their policies, or offer single downloads. I can live without the song, if nobody is willing to make it, other than SC. Anyway, it's for me, not a customer.

So you'd prefer someone spend a couple thousand to produce a track they may not make money on so you can get your song other than spending a few bucks extra on one that's already produced because you have issues with their policy - makes sense  ?
I have bought a disc for one song before at full retail for a good customer - it's the cost of business for me to keep a regular happy. Just did it this last week - he wanted the SC version of The Cars - Good Times Roll, the Dr Music version wasn't cutting it.

I guess you didn't bother reading the song is for ME, not a customer!! I do karaoke outside of work. I am not going to spend that for a song for ME!! Besides, I heard the SC version, and didn't like it.

Have to go with Lonnie on this. If there is only one version of the track, why would you deny yourself the pleasure of singing it? Chances are very low that anyone will every produce it. You can always submit it as a request to Karaoke Version, but they use a community system that would have to game.

There are lots of songs I buy just for customers and just for me and a great many of them have been on discs that were just for that one track.

I did read and I've bought an entire disc for 1 song for myself as well and paid full retail not needing any of the other songs - only because it was the only disc it was ever made on. You now know there is a disc with the song you want but would rather wait for another manufacturer to produce it so you don't have to buy something you have issues with the maker.
BTW I have that disc & the song sounds fine in comparison to the actual unplugged version.

I actually AM thinking about buying it. I am not crazy about buying anything else from them, But I might make an exception in this case. I DID vote for it on KV. LOL

It's blue!! I got the disk, from the link you sent me, and it is BLUE!!! When did SC ever use blue discs?? And it's not exactly SC's best work. I wish Zoom would make this one. It would be much better.

Are the songs silkscreened on the label? If not you got a copy not an original.

Not all SC discs are red & black. When SC redesigned the Spotlight Series label they started using different colors. The top could be red, green, blue, yellow or purple or what ever colors they would used for their annual best of and/or novelty discs. Most pop and rock were the normal red & black, country was yellow and black, etc.

They used several different colors if I'm not mistaken.
But again I have and listened to it in comparison to the original, it's not bad. Not sure what you are hearing that you don't like.

Are you referring to the topside of the disc or the bottom side. If the bottom side is a blueish tint, then you got a burn/copy (of which you can always contact SC to verify if that disc was a re-issue which was not pressed or if it is an illegal burn).

If SC says the disc is an illegal burn, then you can contact the Seller and request your money back (plus the shipping you paid). If the Seller asks for the disc back, then ask him to pay for the return shipping, break the disc in half, and send that back to him. If the Seller refuses any further dealings, file a complaint with e-bay to get your money back.

When I say blue, while it has, what looks like a legit label, the disk is blue, like a CDR-W. As for the production, the song is just cheap sounding. It sounds like Karaoke. Much of the old SC catalog did have good production, but this one is just weak. I think Zoom would have done much better.
