Hey guys! I wanted to introduce you to Timothy the Toad and the pet thread is archived......
Richard guesstimates Timmy to be 3/4 to 1 lb.! He's been hanging around all summer and posed for these photos tonight. :)

My dogs love playing with some of the resident frogs in out garden. Strange thing is they don't kill them froggy.

My puppies don't play with them anymore... Jacob and Montana learned their lesson after frothing at the mouth only once; Sophie is more bull-headed (like me) and it took her two times! Now only Sophie will get close to a toad so Timmy must feel pretty safe!

Isn't he a toad? People don't eat toad legs they eat frog legs. So I don't think Timothy has anything to worry about.
There is a difference between toads and frogs, I'm told. But I have no idea what it is. I never wanted to get that close.
All I know is what I remember from that old song, "Froggy Went A'Courtin". Mr. Froggy was courting Miss (okay, okay Ms. but it screws up the sound of the song) Mousie and asked her to marry her. Miss Mousie is shocked at the suggestion. The last verse goes:

True in most case but many/most toads can be eaten. Just skined it; the toxin is in the skin; and wash properly.
