As you guys know the name of my karaoke bus. is "Monkey Business
Karaoke". Through the years patrons have given me many many monkeys.
Stuffed monkeys, blow up monkeys, hanging monkeys, etc... at my regular venue
I leave my equipment set up with all my monkeys. While I was gone on vacation 2 of my monkeys were kidnapped. How sad is that.

I'd say it's pretty typical of people though....they will steal anything that's not glued down it seems. Usually it's the things you wouldn't expect people to steal too. Someone walked off with our solar lanterns from in front of our front porch like a month ago. They cost like $20... not exactly a valuable item.

Yeah I'd say the monkeys that got stolen maybe cost about $10
a piece. I try to remember who gave me each monkey, but I have so many now it's hard to do. I just feel bad because I know people get a kick out of seeing their monkeys. I don't want anyone thinking I through them out.

That's a sad commentary on human nature.  I'm sorry that happened.

I learned a long time ago that when I'm playing the same place two or more nights in a row, I had better put away anything that is of value and is portable.

Now, I always make sure I put away my mics, stomp boxes, etc.

Sorry to hear about your monkeys.  Our retail store now is represented by frogs (short story but not very interesting) and lots of friends and customers give me frogs.  While I may not remember who gave me each one it is a nice reminder that someone was thinking of me..

Maybe you could post a sign with a reward (an extra karaoke song or something) for the return of the two stolen monkeys.  That would notify the person that gave them to you that you had nothing to do with their disappearance and would also give something for people to talk about other than each other!

I'm not quite so liberated...   There's only one Monkey I'd ever be willing to subject to such measures.  I've grown up with this little pesky thing however, so I feel I can take such liberties. However, if a few of you other guy's are into spanking a diverse batch..... Hey,   To each his own !
