We run our shows much like Big Mike's.  We announce the next 3 singers; the singer that is next, the one "on deck" and the one "in the hole".  We give ample time for applause and actually encourage it.  We also make bar announcements while the next singer is walking up.  The only difference, it appears, is that we don't have music in the background.

After reading your explaination of how you run your show (I've read many of your other posts as well and like your style), AND from reading about how a fellow board member loves your show, I'm sure that I would enjoy the heck out of it!

Bigdog, you're showing your youthful age....."Dinosaur Karaoke" to me was back when it was all on cassett tape and there was NO TV.  You read the lyrics out pf a book.

There is a hosting software that, I think, displays the singing rotation on the screens between singers. It's a nice feature but since I'm still building my library of music, I don't need a hosting software.

It could be that this software is only for PC based venues also.

Everyone does something different in their shows that others don't do.
We are all unique as are our gigs. No KJ is the same. No gig is the same.
To say your way is the only way can be insulting. We all do what works for our situations. Different personalities - gosh different countries.

Paying customers are paying customers and I want the place full of as many as the law allows.   Don't matter if they sing.   They pay the bills.   And I keep them all happy.

14 years in August.   Do 5 nights a week.    Never use contracts or down payments, even for wedding or parties, my word is good as gold.    Never been stiffed.    My singers love me, but don't take my word for anything.  My oldest gig is 8 years old.   Charge $175 a night for 4 hours.

Just had a bar owner come in last night specifially for me.  His bar is 30 miles from here.    He wants me to replace 2 alternating wannabes that keep blowing him off and don't have the right equipment or enough songs.   It's on a Tuesday and I'm already booked.    Anybody need a steady Tuesday night.  He charges $5 a beer so it ain't a dive.    The crowd is already there just walk in and be the star.    Oh, I forgot, there may be some non singers there so....And you would have to be as good as me with top quality equipment and a lot of songs.    Ooooo.... hope that didn't eliminate anyone.

My gigs are continuous (mutual agreement) verbal contracts, steady and weekly, until I quit or they quit.    So right now, they're all lifetime gigs.   Now, tell my again why I need a web site?     I have enough steady work.    But being the no nothing inexperienced idiot I am, I can't understand why.    I could tell you how I do it but nobody believes a word I say.   I lie and B.S. and just plain make stuff up.   Can't trust a KJ.   You know that.

A few more things.

And again, you skate by the question & these gigs would be located?????  You have YET to give up any kind of legit locations that are current, so until you do, what you say is pretty much coming out your (@$%&#!).

I just told you everything and still you accuse me of lying.      You have a problem that I can't fix.

It's what the bar owner told me, it's why he came all that way.   I didn't go to him.   He has eyes and ears.    The man knows quality when he sees and hears it.   I can't help that.    He's sick of working with unprofessional wannabes.   I told you that is why I work steady, but keep doing things your way and don't worry about my tiny little moth invested wallet.    It'll only make you sick.   I would hate to think that I caused anyone bad things.

Until my divorce, there were many more weekly gigs, but now I'm down to 5.

My legit locations are too far for you to drive, with the gas prices as they are.    And exactly why would I have to justify anything to anybody here?    My information is put out there for anyone that wants to learn how to make steady money doing karaoke.   If you are not interested it that, then by all means don't take any of it.   However, if what you are doing isn't getting the results you desire then change is in order.   I have pleny of work, I have people willing to work for me again.   When I get back on my feet from the alimony payments , more systems might be in order again.    I have the work from my non existant web site, but only one system.

Ya know the great thing about caller ID is that when a name comes up and it's someone you don't want to listen to; you don't have to answer the phone.
