Rita, I'm sorry to hear this is why you've been MIA lately.  I was wondering if you were just really busy at work.  

I've been here 2 years now and I've seen a lot of turmoil, some involving me, others involving friends.....and yeah it hasn't always been pretty.  As long as there are humans in existence, there will be conflict.  No one gets along 100% of the time...geez you even have spats with your spouse and family and you're supposed to love them more than anything! All I can say is that from what I know, there are two people involved in a debacle right now.  They are both my friends and this is THEIR dispute.  THEY should be hashing it out.  I have publicly offered my support to one of them because he continues to sub with comments allowed.  The other has listens only and has not commented lately on my subs and God knows why.  Maybe he interprets my supportive words to the other person as a brush-off to him.  Or...maybe he just ran outta time before he got to my subs.  You can't jump to conclusions cuz you never know the reasons with any certainty about why things happen here.  I probably should have just kept my comments restricted to the song, but then your personal thoughts about certain issues seem to find their way into print.  I am all for peace and I truly hope things can be hashed out.  I feel that they are two very good performers and yeah, this site really is big enough for both of them.

I have been tempted to leave once or twice before.  But if I did that, who would listen to my singing???  LOL After I spent all this money on recording equipment, I'm not gonna let it gather dust! Even with the occasional spats, I do like it here.  I have tried to ignore as much as I can when I've gotten nasty comments (luckily they've been few and far in between) and tried to be as diplomatic as I could be.  It IS hard to ignore when you feel a friend is being lambasted....but isn't it really up to that person(s) to handle it directly?  The more people get involved, the harder it is to maintain serenity.

Luly, You know I love you and had rather listen to to you sing than eat chocolate...and I love chocolate.   I really don't want to get in a debate over this.  It was an expression of my thoughts and how it's affected me on the site.  I'm sure that this stuff doesn't effect other people the same way.  I just can't see how anyone can support someone that is after another person so much that he/she will go to other peoples subs to put this one person down.  What one of these is so angry about is something that happened to another person.  That person got it over it long ago and this person should also.  I'm sorry.....but my support has a line and it was drawn recently.  I tried to talk to this person in a mature manner and I all I got back was childish and bitter responses.
This is just my reasons for staying away.  I go there to relax and enjoy some music.  I like to read the other comments to my friends.  It makes me feel good when they feel good but when they are made to feel bad then so do I.   Just from this thread alone I've learned alot.......People will jump to conclusions without knowing what's really behind any of it.  This is one time I know I didn't jump to conclusions.  I have proof of it through emails and PM's but I'm not the kind of person that would hurt another by revealing....They know who they are.  Maybe they are happy that they can affect people this way.  Some people are like that.  And I really don't mind telling them ....they stopped my fun and enjoyment.   So hopefully  they accomplished at least partly what they sat out to do.  I'm sure they are getting a big kick out it.   More power to them.  I'm a firm believer in you reap what you sow somewhere along the line.

Actually awakens, there was a bunch of discussions about the "mystery" of vibrato in that thread, but feel free to open a new topic on it.  I notice in SS there are many people with great voices who  apparently do not have one (or opt not to use it).  It is handy to have and I use it a lot in my doo woop things.

might consider asking Phil or whoever is programming software to add a comment restriction much like PMs have.  In otherwords -- if you don't want a particular persons comments -- they will no longer be able to add any to your subs -- might work to cut down on all the problems

ok.. well.. just a case in point here.. I do agree with keep it to the music comments..
but.. a couple of the comments here said that they appreciate how if someone see's someone else being attacked that friends circle and defend their friend..

well... I know about some of the stuff that has been going on and said in here.. and if you think about it.. the people attacking the other person's character or whatever... they feel they are sticking up for other people too..

so that's what I mean.. there's always going to be gang vs gang ... and who's really in the right? well ask members of Friend-set-A and they'll say they are.. Friends-set-B says they are..

who wins? that's what I meant.. two sides to every single story.. everyone is sticking up for friends or people they feel need sticking up for.. etc..

so not to start a fight.. just to make a point..

now dang it.. Where's Tig when a girl needs him? geez I've been hanging around all day and ya think he'd come find me but noooooooooooo.. Charmin!! what have you done with Tig?  :whistle:

Foxe - Oh my! Certainly didn't mean a gang of friends ganging up on another group. I was just going by my experiences in the discussion forum. We kind of police ourselfs at times. If I got out of line I'm sure one of my friends on here would let me know it. I consider Kappy a friend, but I know he wouldn't let me go all postal on someone.
