Well, looking at the web containing the list of forums for this one we are in now it does indicate "for anything and every thing (paraphrased)"....why not, with a little web redesign, create a "Karaoke Forum" room similar to the "Singer's Forum"...this might have a salubrious effect in directing traffic somewhat. I notice in the "Singer's Forum" the threads fairly well stay intact--perhaps being situated in a central location like that has effected this; don't know, but worth a shot if admin is amenable to this suggestion.

Thanks for the spellcheck Michael. I'll change it in a few.

Jeff, I never ONCE called anyone a 'tard... except to laughingly go along with the ones YOU posted. If you were upset at their use today, you should have kept your sarcasm to yourself.
For the record, I've spoken HONESTLY about when people hijack threads as of late. I don't have any reason to call them names, just call them on the happenings I was looking at. I never ONCE called anyone on here a name, unless I or a friend was attacked... so lay off me. 'kay?
I agree with a lot of things. I also disagree with a lot, too. We could go on and on about all of them, but frankly, I have a lot better things to do than sit here and be accused of what you're accusing me of, or lumped into a group of people who have done it.
Now if the people that I've OPENLY spoken of have disliked what I had to say, I frankly could care less.
I'm not here for any sort of popularity contest, unlike yourself, Stevan or Chuck.
Do I have fun on here? Sure.
do I go off topic on here? Sure.
I'm not out to be a kill joy. I could care less how many topics are created by anybody for any reason. I just don't like it when the serious ones are hijacked. Nor am I out to show which examples I'm talking about. Let's just move on, and if no admin changes are made for a seperate forum, fine, but let's leave the karaoke-related topics alone. Or any serious ones that turn into a love fest of unrelated posts.
That's ALL I was after. I would LOVE to have some remainder of what this site used to be like. That's ALL.
The sheer reason many of the long-term members haven't said much is you see 15 active topics, some that look valid, and you wade through a bunch of unrelated b.s. and it's annoying! So I'm CERTAIN many posters just "mark topics as read", and move on.
Frankly, I like this site too much to be a casual reader.
Let me read the posts and topics that matter to me, and you do the same.

I've sat on the sidelines of this debate, and the one thing that I've noticed running constant throughout the numerous threads, is that we have certain members whose only contribution has been to forge a wedge between others here on this forum. No matter what the subject may be, their comments always seem to run contradictory towards the general consensus. Perhaps it's done intentionally, or perhaps it's just a lack of social skills, either way their purpose has been served and you, the folks here have been duped. To argue a topic with a solution to it's end is admirable, but to argue only for the sake of further causing dissention is provocative and done maliciously. While these individuals may be a dilettantes in their own minds, I for one cannot find one single shred of evidence that they have contribute anything in the least to this site. But having said that, a certain quote comes to mind, and I paraphrase, 'In the absence of true leadership, people will oft follow the person with the loudest voice.'
Personally, I think my purpose for coming is drawing to a close. I came here to learn about the art and business of Karaoke and since that no longer seems to be the main focus, perhaps I should seek elsewhere. I will remain active in the KJ forum, and of course comment if needed. Thanks to those of you who have helped, and to the rest of you, congrats, you turned a very unique website into nothing more than a yahoo chat room.
Nuff said since most of what I've said will escape you anyway.
Respectfully,
James

Sounds good to me Knightshow. I have really felt a little bit tired of this whole thing and like you say. The site is a good one and you're right. If someone is having a conversation and it's going well the last thing anyone wants to see is it get hijacked. Hopefully I am not guilty of ruining too many conversations and I apologize for being guilty for any I may have crashed.
I've had a few peeps tell me you are a good guy so I have no problems with you at all. I just thought the way some of the frequent posters were being treated was a little odd, since they keep this place going for the most part. Thanks for your thoughts on this. I'm sure things will taper off for all involved. It's in all of our best interests to not get stressed out over a karaoke web site. Wow. That even sounds sort of stupid.

James I respect completely what your'e saying, and it's EXACTLY what I'm trying to avoid.
The sole purpose of this site was to discuss and share knowledge of karaoke. Doesn't mean that's ALL it was for... the subject of a "general" forum also is broader and should encompase all sorts of things.
BUT not at the expense of what the forum was for.
I don't want you, chuck, stevan, or anybody to LEAVE. I just think that folks should respect when a serious topic is being discussed to not wander so far off the beaten path. If people want to discuss the current movie that's all the hype, MORE POWER TO THEM. Just don't do it in my "best cdg" thread! ! (and for the really dense of you, that's an EXAMPLE, not the reality)
I hope you change your mind, but I'll respect anything you decide to eventually do, as I will with anybody.
Matt
P.S. Jeff, just saw your last post. Thank you, and I agree. I've always liked what you had to say since your joining. I find you to be quite funny. And I don't want any animosity to exist between ourselves or the other posters...
Like Chuck said earlier... "Can't we all just get along?"

Oh man, I just read the way my last post in this thread looked. This is not how I meant it and my priorities where way off.
Man in Black, this may mean little or nothing to you but I will say it anyway. I value your opinion and enjoy what you have to say quite often. If you leave, a part of this site goes with you, the part you created. I would like to know what the consensus is but it is not as important as the subject of losing a character of good standing.
Maybe I'm taking all of this too seriously. It would not surprise me if that is the case.

...It is really apparent that nothing reaches crisis intervention levels or draws many of us into these contentious debates more effectively than a couple people coming in and drawing up camps, positioning themselves as the authority figures in all matters regardless of any constructive suggestions trying to be made or being quickly ridiculed for doing so, the "I don't care what youse guys do but I want it done my way" type of thing. In essence, it's just best to screw the whole thing and let the last person out of the gunny sack win. It's almost always the big mouths with the most miniscule conviction or sincere belief in what they are squeaking about that creates the most stir. They cannot live in an orderly world because they are too engaged in creating disorder. Any student of history will tell you on recurring theme that occurs throughout the ages: people ruin everything. This is one of the reasons.
Frankly, I at times feel what I'm reading at times is "just the booze talking"....very loqacious fellow that Mr. B.

I don't know why this particular subject came up recently, unfortunately it must have been started by a post or posts that were offensive. While I would enjoy area for karaoke related subjects only because the list of other topics can get quite lengthy at times, I even started one!
A separate issue for me is not taking the topics so far off topic. I have often found myself enjoying a topic (karaoke related or not) only to have pages of unrelated posts come up.
Just my two cents for what it's worth,
Susie

What the heck is that supposed to mean? Wow! I guess my opinion, as inoffensive as I thought it was, doesn't matter much to you. Nice way to respond to me for the first time...
Nice to meet you to,

Why did you start this thread... Was it meant to be a closed thread or only closed to someone who got into the topic MUCH later than you. I'm not one of the "peeps" who have been talking about this all day; even if I were, so what! Or is your problem with me that I'm now being redundant as it's already been discussed all day? I THOUGHT I was responding, on topic, to a thread you started. If you are expecting certain responses or mine doesn't fit what you want there are certainly other ways of responding...
As I said, I'm not sure what started all of this... Apparently some things have been said that other people find offensive, I can assure I have not read that or those posts yet ... If you would point me to a post that was similiar to mine that caused you to respond to me so negatively, please do so. I read a post of yours in this thread about certain people and can assure you I am not one of them. I am also not someone who would have tried to embarass or degrade you if I don't agree with you.. If you don't want anymore posts on this thread have it closed rather than be condescending.
Please do not assume I had anything to do with any animosity on this board. I do find it interesting that simply by stating my opinion I get this kind of response. Geez, by all means, chat on......
Susie

It kinda looks like Susie was just making her FIRST post about the subject matter that you created for this thread.
**Just hit the "refresh" button and saw her last post... she pretty much summed it up.
Was going to toss out a post about the original subject too..... maybe not now .

Yes, we "peeps" have had nothing better to do than squander countless hours and minutes unassauged throughout the night and day on this subject for your sole amusement. Glad you were entertained.

Subject is mute. You seem to love trying to keep it going though don't you? I get no entertainment from you Michael. None at all.
