The way they recycle people on these soaps is hilarious. Oh well, makes for good job security.

hahah!! yep!!
the wierdest thing though.... was.... 'member YEARS n YEARS ago... the OLD Roman Brady..... well that actor came back on the show to play a completely different character.... he was a doctor who was tryin to brainwash Marlena into thinking that they used to be in love...... so they'd show these flashbacks of old 80's episodes of Marlena with this dude.... 'cept he was playing Roman in that old footage, but not in the actual story.... it was the memories of the Dr and Marlena that he put into her head! aaaahhhh! i can't even EXPLAIN it properly!!! !! I really am a NUT!

Guess they worked out the new contract before he breathed his last breath.... LOL

ok so lemme get this straight.... so Todd commited a crime.... given lethal injection, but then the person he supposedly victimized let it be known that he was innocent? So then they brought Todd back to life??
That's PRICELESS!!
way to go, Drea..... get me all interested in ANOTHER show too!!

You Know You're Addicted to Soaps When...
...you take the phone off the hook while your shows are on.
...you actually have withdrawal symptoms when you miss an episode.
...you think about having the video tapes of all your favorite episodes buried with you when you are gone from this world!!
...company comes over to visit and you just want to shut the door in their faces.
...you can remember the first time after delivery that you saw your child by what soap was going off at the time.
...you get hooked on Passions.
...you ask your daughter to wait until the commercial to change her poopy diaper.
...the house goes to pot, the dog doesn't get feed, the dinner is burning and the hubby is whining about something but you totally ignore him.
...you start talking to the TV!!! Yelling at them, crying with them, telling them that they are nincompoops and literally wanting to bop them in the nose when they get on that last nerve
...you read these updates and you actually know who the writer is talking about when they are using those "cutesy" names instead of the character's real names.
...you have at least five different scenerios for every story line that you are currently watching.
...besides seeing the baby when I get home from work, I can't wait to get dinner ready and sit down and watch the tape while eating!!!!!
...you get a friend to tape your soaps for you because your hubby's using the VCR.
...You record the shows and stay up really late at night watching them even up to two week's previous airings.
...you go somewhere and keep looking at your watch every five minutes because you're afraid you're not going to get back in time for the soaps.
...you schedule doctor's appointments, etc. around (their airings) so you won't miss your soaps.
...you name your children after characters on your soaps.
...you go to tape your soap, and when you go to watch it, you find out the vcr has eaten your tape, and it just makes you so mad, because you don't get to see your show.
...you get peeved because the Special News report comes on and interrupts your Soap.

Actually Crystal, Todd had supposedly killed this woman, and in the mean time the doctor who was framing him had brainwashed the woman and given her a new identity. A cop who believed Todd was innocent managed to figure most of it out and brought the woman to the prison - just a little too late. What was ironic, the doctor who was framing him is the one who revived him and kept him going till they got him to the hospital. They are still trying to bring this doctor down, but he's still doing his thing .
And Luly, I have yelled at the characters on the screen

OMG Luly, those are pretty accrurate. My step mom-in-law used to watch them with my 2 sister in laws. That time of day, they made sure the kids were fed & napping, and the phone was left to the answering machine, you could start the house on fire and they would SIT there watching..... they took their soaps SERIOUSLY. Then when they were over, you had to listen to them go on for hours about what was gonna happen on the NEXT episode. I used to be bored out of my mind when we'd go visit them, cause Lonnie would go off with his dad somewhere and I'd be left with a room full of cackling biddies, ll.
Crystal, your descriptions are KILLING me. LMAO
OMG, Drea's part of it too. haha, I'm runnin'.... there's better stuff in the tech forums for crying out loud.

And let's not even talk about night soaps.... LOL Just when I thought I'd gotten over my daytime soaps, Knots Landing, Dynasty and Melrose Place come on the scene... Charmin, didn't you watch any of those?

Oh, do THOSE count as soaps? Then hell yeah, I guess I have a girlie side after all.
You recall when Lisa Hartman-Black (she's now wife of Clint Black) was on there as a country singer named Cigi? (dunno how ya spell it...pronounced C-G) Anyhow, that was my high school years, and I SO wanted to just BE her. My name then (maiden) was Charmin Gibson, so I totally stole her name, since it was my initials. I spelled it that way (above) and that was pretty much my nic in HS. Stupid, huh? hahaha.......
But yes, I loved Dallas & Knots Landing, I never missed those shows. And I guess I did my share of acting like a cackling biddie during the big "who shot JR" phase. I watched a bit of Dynasty, never Melrose Place tho. (did I miss something good?)

Oh yes, all the beautiful, back-stabbing, philandering, adultering, murderous people were on Melrose Place! Just like any other soap but with some extra surf and sand between the toes! Heather Locklear led the bunch, and I remember Kristin Davis (from Sex and the City) and Marcia Cross (Desperate Wives) were on there. Meowwwww!!!
