Ok people, I've provided you all with top notch Mexican Martini recipes and not even a comment. Is anyone alive out there? Sounds like somebody needs to get their priorities straight. It's Memorial weekend, so myself, I think I'm gonna mix up some Mexican Martinis later today. I've got all the stuff. 'Houston all systems are go'.
For tequila I got some Antigua Cruz Reposado 100% Aqave Azul - product of Mexico baby!
Hopefully I won't be typing on here after drinking some of those things cause they are strong and no telling what I might say.
Now I just need to find a Jimmie Buffet - 'Margaritaville' backing to sub to SS. 'Margaritaville' was one of the first karaoke songs I ever did in public - and that cold turkey with no practice.
Hey I just thought of a great idea. We could all drink Margaritas and Mexican Martinis and each person sing their version of 'Margaritaville' to sub to SS. Discussion of National Karaoke Scene Margaritaville Day could take place on the appropriate forum thread. LMAO I thnk that would be fun.

we always change the words a bit
"Smell those crawfish they're beginnin' to boil",
"Wasted away again in downtown Pflugerville"
and
"It's a real beauty. She's a cajun cutie"
that is all....
thank you

WOW, that woman riding the horse in Luly's post has really nice thighs, and buttocks (my assumption is there's a second buttock, naturally I have no evidence to confirm this yet) !
(OK, you can resume your regular conversation now)
Kappy <---turning into a really dirty old man (THANK GOD)

Actually, I'm oringally from just south of Austin. New Braunfels, Texas to be exact. Of course when I lived there, I was much too young to be drinking liquor of any kind, but my love of Margaritas must be in my blood or something;) Sounds like a night to (not) remember. haha I've had one too many nights like that, where the next morning my memory is all hazy and people tell me stories and I groan and say "I did WHAT?!?!?".... Needless to say, I try to limit my alcohol these days. No need for me to be the party animal, I prefer to be the teller of the funny stories, not the star of them.... Quote: Mexican food is very regional. I like to try it from all over. There is standard Tex-Mex, and there is 'interior' Mexican food that is really great. California has a different southwest spin on many of the dishes - which is probably part of what you get in Oregon. New Mexico, and I believe Arizona also do their own styles / versions which are probably influenced by the Indian population. They tend to do blue corn tortillas and green chili. Actually, we have a HUGE Mexican population here, the berry crops and nurseries and farm labor bring them here in large numbers. Most Mexican restaurants, you find employees who speak no english at all, they are all imigrants. This being so, I think they keep the food pretty authentic to Mexico. There are also little vans that drive around and set up on a street corner (they have the windows that open out to a walk up order window) Anyhow, they serve tacos, burritos, lots of stuff... You see them in store parking lots often. Good food, very authentic, but scary enough to trust the food from them. (i don't think they're very regulated) I've even in the past seen them walk the streets with a cart and warming oven on it, selling tamales they home make. Again, kinda scary to buy food from.... but I HAVE tried them. There is a store here that does Green Chili... good stuff. My ulcer/acid reflux keeps me from eating most spicy stuff now though. (hence the "mild" salsa, and my having to choose a Quesadilla as my favorite menu item) I used to eat the heck out of Chili Rellenos, but can't anymore... I'd pay the price for that. .
New Braunfels, home of the modern Texas Octoberfest, baby! Yeehaw! (Sausage on a stick, beer real expensive and powdered fried stuff) I ain't sure what stuff stuff is but it's good. Polka Party! :drunk:

My little brother is coming here June 10th for a week, from Virginia. He's a dance choreographer there for a country-western dance team, and when he comes out here, it's something him and I like to do. My hubby wont dance, can't get my sons in the bars to dance with me, can't dance with strangers cause hubby would beat them all with a big stick..... so when he comes out here is my only chance.
I recently sang with the band (couple months ago) at a place about 30 minutes from here that is supposed to have the biggest bar dance floor on the west coast. It was a VERY cool dance floor..... so I want to try to take him there, if I can.
That's all..... just cause my little brother is coming for a visit. It will be a time of all music and dancing and NO sleep whatsoever;) Always is.

Hey Charmin, sounds like you're going to Jubitz Ponderosa for your dancing? Huge dance floor and lots of seating. Hopefully, Cross Country is playing that weekend! They play good, danceable current and older country songs. Kindling, that band I think you heard at the Spinning Wheel plays there too some times. Ponderosa also has a country DJ on weeknights.
